Oklahoma Point Guard Leaving

Bobby Maze, who emerged as Oklahoma's starting point guard last season, will not return to the team next season, coach Jeff Capel said Tuesday.
"Bobby and I met last week and we came to an agreement that he and our program will part ways," Capel said in a statement. "This decision is best for Bobby and for our team. I appreciate Bobby's efforts this past season and certainly wish him well in the future."

Maze averaged 5.6 points and 2.1 assists last season as a freshman. He started five of the Sooners' final six games, yielding to Kellen Sampson on senior night.

Maze played high school basketball at Suitland (Md.) High School and was on the same Amateur Athletic Union team as Texas' Kevin Durant, the college player of the year, and North Carolina's Ty Lawson.

He was the first recruit to sign with Oklahoma after Capel was hired last year. After high school, Maze played at The Patterson School, the same North Carolina prep school as Oklahoma guard Tony Crocker.

I'm sure there's probably some "You can't transfer within conference" clause...

That was the first thought that came to my mind when I saw the topic of this post.
