Considering he was on nobody's radar before he came here, I think breaking into the top 100 is pretty impressive.
I liken this to trying to a team trying to break into the top 25. If your not in the pre-season rankings, you're going to have to be pretty special to move up and get noticed, and it will take some time. I look for WJ to move up further in the sophmore rankings next year.

I have a feeling with more strength and polishing of his game, Wesley will be giving teams fits. He could be just unreal. I dont think he will have a slump like most.

Now he's playing year round I assume with the rest of the players; lifitng weights, working on his shooting and dribbling skills, etc. The skies the limit for Wes and I can't wait to see the improvement next season.

Aren't these rankings for the best players that are ready for the NBA? If so, most outside observers would look at WJ and see that he is a vastly underized 4 man and thats not good for the NBA. If, and hopefully when, WJ playes primarily the 3 his rankings should go up, but still we don't even know this because we havent seen him play there much. JMHO

I would say I am OK with outsiders not thinking he is ready for the NBA, the longer that stays true...the longer he stays a Clone!

That's not really Wes' game as of yet, but it will be soon. They both like shooting the jumper though for sure.

Reading through this thread, I am struck that people seem to forget that WJ was the second leading scorer on a team that finished 15-16. That is not going to garner a lot of attention, nationally.
Now, I truly believe that Wes is a terrific talent, and has a great future. Barring any injury, he will play in the NBA. The thing is that as we get better, more and more people will see what this kid has.
