There could be something to say about this. I live outside of Detroit and there are a ton of choices for sports radio here. So I generally flip between multiple programs and listen in on what I am interested in. Judging from the many threads started on radio hosts in Iowa, maybe there just isn't anything to choose from?Quote:

Eric Wynalda: 'Jim Rome Can Suck My D---' - Sports Blog | SOCCER Blog - The FanHouse
He didnt say it in private, he said it in an interview... Wynalda was upset because Rome ALWAYS makes fun of soccer... My question is, whats wrong with making fun of soccer?
Rome is pretty good when he interviews people but other than that I think the man should be banned from the radio for stupidity and be the most annoying person on the planet.
Good things about Rome:
Rips on Hawks, rips on soccer, talks about sports (this is a good thing if you're in Des Moines because there are no other options)
Bad things about Rome:
Constantly reminding you of how great his interviews are, kissing every interviewees butt every second of the day they appear on his show like they are God, saying the same thing over and over but just rewording it different ways, his "cool" little abbreviations for all the cities-real clever.
I get a kick out of about 5 minutes of his show per week so therefore I don't listen. The thing that really makes me turn the station is when he starts rehashing and rewording the same point for about 30 minutes at a time...I guess he feels the need to repeat everything 20 times because that's about how long it takes his fan base to comprehend something.
true, he does repeat his points often...but what media source doesnt? not only athletic media does this. its reporting news and you cant make it up. if theres nothing going on and you have a 3 hr time slot, youre going to talk about 1 point for a while. you cant bash him for being redundant, he does a fine job of taking a boring day in the sports world and turning into something some what interesting.
It's not that he just talks about a certain story for a long time. It's that he rewords the same exact sentence about 15 different ways. I don't mind if he talks about a current issue and takes calls on it...
Lord, please tell me that nobody on this board likes the smack on the Rome show. It's the worst radio EVER! Reading pre-written smack is pathetic. Listening and enjoying it is a notch more pathetic.
