Corey McIntosh is transferring to...
...Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD. LINK
Did he really have any other option but to enroll in a non-D1 school?

Re: Corey McIntosh is transferring to...
I thought people were saying he wanted to move closer to home??
-
Re: Corey McIntosh is transferring to...
Augustana is closer to home, by at least 150 miles -)
This makes me wonder if their is more to the CMac story than we have been fed.

Re: Corey McIntosh is transferring to...
That's interesting. Either he's been having some bad moments with the team, or academics played a role... moving back to California, I can understand. But South Dakota??

Re: Corey McIntosh is transferring to...
Just thinking aloud here.....I know that Mac used to coach in North Dakota, which is at least close to South Dakota and possibly has Augustana in the same league he used to coach in. Maybe through a friend of a friend he found out that Augustana would be the best fit for Cory and steered him there.

Re: Corey McIntosh is transferring to...
One of the schools listed is Barton College which is in North Carolina. That is about as far away from home as he could possibly get. That is a big step down going from the Big 12 to a small school in South Dakota.

Re: Corey McIntosh is transferring to...
He's still working on his academics here at ISU at least, I saw him walk into the library yesterday.

Re: Corey McIntosh is transferring to...
I'm sure we don't need to know the whole story, and there's probably a good reason for that. It's none of our business. Good luck to him.

Re: Corey McIntosh is transferring to...
I am from Sioux Falls, SD. I have taken classes at Augustana College and I guarantee you that if he's going there because he's having trouble with academics, he's making a terrible mistake. Augustana in SF is known around the area as being a very strong academic, Lutheran, private school. The classes there are not going to be any easier than the ones he was taking here. They play in the NCAA div II, in the North Central Conference. The NCC is the same conference as UND plays in.

Re: Corey McIntosh is transferring to...
I wish Corey the best, despite his rugged and short stay here. I was very unhappy with his play in the beggining of the season, but then he really came along at the end, and i thought for sure this upcoming year he could have contributed well off the bench.
Good luck Corey, I just don't think ISU was a good fit

Re: Corey McIntosh is transferring to...
Augustana is coached by Tom Billeter who use to coach at North Dakota State, I am sure that both Jeff Rutter and Mac helped him to get there.
Both Jeff and Mac had ties to the NCC which Augustana plays in and to NDSU, where Billeter 1st coached......

Re: Corey McIntosh is transferring to...
This is certainly odd.
I can't help but wonder if this is actually a playing time issue.

Re: Corey McIntosh is transferring to...
I think he just likes to play someone for a year, then leave:
Freshman Year: Pasadena CC
Sophomore Year: Fullerton
Junior Year: Iowa State
Senior Year: Augustana
