Eboh
Jeremy, I just heard on the radio that McCarney had announced that Colins Eboh would probably not come in this fall and that 4 of our recruits will be pursuing JUCO's. Can we get some more info on this? Thanks!

That doesn't sound like promising news. I'm curious as to who the other four are.
-
I believe RB Harry Scott from Florida is one of them. The new roster is posted, so you could look to see who isn't on it from the commitment list.
-
All I can say is the other 4 are no biggie, IMO. Should see more on this soon.
-
I thought Harry Scott was supposed to be a big time player.

I should have clarified...
No biggie for this year. None were considered to be in the mix for playing time. With 'em going to JUCO's, we still do have the chance to get them back.

Article in today's Quad-City Times (Davenport, IA newspaper) mentions, Prince Mckinney, Randy Palmer, Justin Roberson and Harry Scott, along with Eboh. Check out the link: http://www.qctimes.com/articles/2006...2657865806.txt -
All I have heard from ISU types is that Eboh is unknown and we won't know until end of next week...Was what you heard radio report or host speculation?
-
I'm confused as well. I keep hearing that Mac is waiting to know. Except for the above poster who says it has already been finalized, I believe everything else indicates we are only able to speculate. Can anyone confirm or deny?

I didn't finalize anything in my initial post. What I said was that on KXNO they said that McCarney announced the 4 players being placed in JUCO programs and that it was looking like Eboh would probably not be there in the fall. But I'm not saying that I heard it wrong either. That is why I was looking for other info. I hope you are right on it not being decided until next week. But if it was looking positive, I can't see Mac even saying anything about it.

At the meet the coaches night I talked to some pretty good sources who didn't feel all that great about Eboh making it. If they were betting men...they would bet the house he doesn't make it to campus, b/c he cannot buckle down @ NIACC! ? !
Please Mr. Parker...buckle down early!
-
Without Eboh...who would be our projected 2 deeps going into the fall? How can you not qualify from NIACC?

Sorry for the late response, I have been tied up all day in meetings.
Eboh is about 95% out of the picture as of right now. Things could change but it appears highly unlikely that he will suit up as a Clone.
The other players (Randy Palmer, Justin Roberson, Prince McKinney, and Harry Scott) were referenced above with a link to an article talking about the situation. I have heard that there is a high level of hope that at least two of the four will eventually see Ames, it all depends on them and how well they get their act together. With recruiting classes of 30 players, you are going to have some dissapointments both on the field and off. These just happen to be quicker dissapointments than we would like:)
A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player. -
After spending a season at ISU and knowing what is expected of him (EBOH) I would assume he will never play a down....Sorry to sound so negative but when a University invests time, money and sends him to a smaller school to get things in order and he knows what he needs to do and still comes up short... I guess the old saying: You can lead a horse to water but.....I hope I am wrong and he turns out like Tim Dobbins but he is probably down-the-road-motors..HITMAN
