I can honestly say I've never watched more than 5 minutes of any American Idol ever...if they so much as even mention it on the 6pm news I turn the channel in disgust....
Ironically, I think I'm a better American for it!

Maybe that's why I liked Phil from this season too. I didn't like him since the first Hollywood episode though until the last few weeks. I think he was one of the better performers/singers the past 3 weeks. Really rocked the house Tuesday night.
On Daughtry and Hicks...I really liked them both. I too like the music Hicks sings. Daughtry just appeals to a wider market - as displayed in the charts. Plus, the night he sang Hemorrhage, IMO - one of the best Idol performances, ever. No wonder Fuel tried to get him to join their band as the new lead singer - he did it better than they do.
I love music. Some view Idol as pathetic and cheesy and sometimes it is just that. I just ignore that part and enjoy the great musicians that grace the stage. Often times we TIVO it and even when we're home, we'll wait until it's done or halfway through to begin watching it so we can skip the cheese. ;)
That show lost any credibility it had to me when somehow Grey lives after not having a heartbeat for over 2 hours. I'm sorry but I'm pretty sure even if they did try that in real life that the person would be perfectly fine afterwards. No brain complications, organ failures, etc from not having a pulse that long, it just blows my mind how anyone can take that show seriously.
Trust me, when she was dying I was cheering like the Cyclones had just won the Humanitarian Bowl...then she ruined it and "came back to life". Stupid.
Maybe "Hideous Asian Lady's Anatomy". That actress is 1/2 the reason I hate the show.
