Dan hired him when Barney needed a job. It was a match made in Ames. Barney did his usual job. He recruited. He olined. He called plays. He was bad enough to get fired. He still needs a job. Maybe he can go coach the lkine in the pros. Maybe arena football. Maybe Europe. He needs a job. Maybe Frank Solich can help out.

Hy Vee has good wings at mini restaurants. Or is it tuna salad the main attraction? What does an oline coach eat post job? Maybe Bud Light.

If only we could go back in time had have hired a different OC instead of Cotton. I wonder what could have been...

We would have still lost to every good team that we played, probably in a blow out. We would have still lost a stinker game or two in that time (like Baylor). We would have still lost at least a couple times where we were ahead, and sat on the ball hoping to get the clock to run out. Those things existed before Barney, and they weren't going to change.
