Too bad, but she's a smart lady and will land on her feet.

The link's broken. What's the gist of the story?
True and Valiant
I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

Re: Medders Waived
The worst part is she was waived three days after this press release came out:
INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Fever rookie Lyndsey Medders has pledged to donate $14 to the Community Health Network Foundation, for every point the Fever scores in its Heart Healthy Night preseason opener, Saturday night (6:00 p.m.), against the Seattle Storm. The significance of her $14 per point contribution? Medders has worn No. 14 on her jersey since she was in high school.
Her parents, Mardy and John Medders of Los Angeles, and extended family, will at least match her donation, expecting a donation of roughly $2,000. The contribution toward research and the fight against heart disease is a cause that is particularly close to the family’s interests.
The Indiana Fever will donate $3 from every $10 general admission ticket that is purchased for the game.
Medders was the Fever’s second-round draft pick a month ago. The point guard from Iowa State will participate in Saturday’s preseason opener at Conseco Fieldhouse while her senior classmates in Ames, Iowa, are conducting commencement exercises. The game is highlighted locally by former Purdue teammates Katie Gearlds (Seattle) and Erin Lawless (Indiana), but Medders will have a fan club of her own. Approximately 60 girls basketball players from the All-Iowa Attack, a collection of four AAU teams whom she has helped coach and who are participating in an AAU Super Regional tournament in nearby Plainfield, will attend Saturday’s game.
The Fever will participate in two additional preseason games – May 10 vs. Los Angeles (7:00 p.m.) and May 15 at Chicago (8:00 p.m.) - before opening the regular season against the Minnesota Lynx, May 19 (7:00 p.m.) at Conseco Fieldhouse.
Single-game tickets for all Fever home games may be purchased at the Conseco Fieldhouse Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations or FeverBasketball.com. For season ticket information, call (317) 917-2500.

Re: Medders Waived
Wow, that was fast. That wasn't even long enough for them to see what Lindsay is all about.

Re: Medders Waived
that kind of pisses me off.. that really is not enough time for her to show her abilities... hopefully another team gives her a shot... maybe the monarchs?? where brittney is..
Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." -

Re: Medders Waived
That really sucks ! I agree, they didn't really get a chance to see what she can do. Seems like the WNBA system is too crunched for time; 3 preseason games and overseas players not reporting until the 2nd or 3rd preseason game . Not enought time for rookies to make their mark and get to mesh with the veterans.
K.B. Sharp was the back up PG last year for the Fever and it appears greatly benefited from playing in France this offseason. Lyndsey was most likely going to have to beat her out for the roster spot.
Too bad, but I hope there's another team that will pick her up.

Re: Medders Waived
You guys realize that you are talking about the WNBA here and acting like it matters? It's chick ball, crazy things happen. Get over it. A wise man once said, "You've gotta know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em." Do you know who that man was? Wilford Brimley, and I know for a fact he was against the WNBA.

Re: Medders Waived
She will make more money in the Private Sector than she ever would make in the WNBA. The league only exist because of the NBA. That is a Fact, not an opinion. She is a smart girl. Someone will hire her for a good amount of money.

What's with the attacks on the WNBA? Is there a little misogyny on Cyclone Fanatic?

What's with the attacks on the WNBA? Nothing like a little misogyny on Cyclone Fanatic.
It's just a flat out horrible league. The NBA sucks and they at least have the best in the world playing it. The WNBA is worse than watching paint dry. They should make Al Quada at Gitmo watch it. They would find out real fast where Osama is.
