Big 12 Standings for 2008
I copied these projections from a KSU message board. As you can see they don't know how to spell and somehow think that Iowa is a member of the Big 12 Conference.
1. KSU
2. TEXAS
3. KU
4. A&M
5. OSU
6. TTech
7. CORLORADO
8. MIZZOU
9. NEBRASKA
10. IOWA
11. BAYLOR
12. OU

Re: Big 12 Standings for 2008
Alright, if they honestly think that KSU is going to be King S*** next year, they're in for a very rude awakening.

Apparently, not only has Colorado been replaced with Corlorado, but this new Corlorado team has apparently found competent players.

Re: Big 12 Standings for 2008
I don't completly disagree with K-State being the top team in the conference. Unless something weird happens, they will easily have a first round bye down in KC. No way in hell Colorado finishes better than 10th.

Re: Big 12 Standings for 2008
I think there's about a Snowball's chance in hell that "Corlorado" finishes above 10, and another snowball's chance in hell that KSU finishes 1st in conference play.

Completely agree with that sentiment. I have a better chance of starting out with a six figure salary than KSU winning the Big XII.

Re: Big 12 Standings for 2008
Did no one notice that they also had Nebraska 9th and OKLAHOMA finishing last? This was more than likely a sarcastic projection.

Re: Big 12 Standings for 2008
Actually there were quite a few people on the KSU board that agreed with the projections.

Re: Big 12 Standings for 2008
For future reference, when speaking of Colorado in future threads, I will refer to them as "Corlorado". I kinda like that ..."kNU" needs an incorrect buddy.

Re: Big 12 Standings for 2008
Call me crazy but I just don't think that K-State will be as good as everyone is saying. Sure they have Beasley coming in and Walker coming back, but still for some reason I'm not worried about them. I think they finish no better than 4th. Corlorado, now they are a different story. I think the name change will really waken up the team. I see big things from Corlorado.

Re: Big 12 Standings for 2008
KSU better hope that they don't have to play any games in Florida since there head coach is banned from coaching any games in that state. They will have the talent to win the Big 12 but they don't have the coaching to.

Re: Big 12 Standings for 2008
Corlorado will be a force, did they change mascots too?
However I think the big 12 might have its weakest year in awhile. A&M lost Law and their coach, TX lost Durant - enough said, KS looks to be loosing most of their core. I am sure that they all have studs coming in, I just think next year might be as weak as the Big 11 was this year. KSU might be the most talented team in the conference, but that does not mean they will be on top. The rest of the league will catch on to thug ball.

Re: Big 12 Standings for 2008
I think KSU can be solid this year, IF Stewart and Young can do something. Hoskins, Beasley, Walker, will all do well in the frontcourt. I have to think Bennett will become something close to a competant player.
However, this is KSU's year to shine. Walker and Beasley are gone after this season. Hoskins is a senior. Young and Stewart are seniors. Their backcourt is still weak. If they don't finish first this year, it's probably going to be a long time before they will.

With a poor recruiting class and a new head coach, I hope you meant getting to 10 wins on the year as Big Things.
K-State will have their one year of "greatness". A third place finish in the Big XII, and a second round loss in Tourney. But they'll quickly find themselves at the bottom of the conference in '09

Re: Big 12 Standings for 2008
I thought the Big 12 was pretty mediocre outside of the top three and it's going to be even worse next year. K-State can sleepwalk to a top four finish while the rest of the league is still trying to get things revved up again.
As far as their longterm prospects go people here seem fairly happy about what Martin has done so far so it might be too early to throw them back in the cellar yet. I'll wait until their inevitable probabtion to do that.
