Re: New ESPN big 12 reviews
I know some folks would rather see three easy games, plus Iowa, but I'd love to see us have a home and away with someone we don't see often, and get some pub in the process.
With many of those teams listed though, they may believe we have to "earn" the right to have a home and away with them. I think our best bet, out of those listed would be Wake Forest and Florida State (been there before). I have a feeling that unless we shell a pretty penny for Auburn, Miami, USC, we won't see them in Ames any time soon.

With the quality of our play right now... it would be as close to a guaranteed victory against a BCS school as you could get.

Re: New ESPN big 12 reviews
After reading ESPN's analysis of our team this year, it makes you think our season hinges on the success of the jucos coming in. If half of these guys pan out, most importantly J.J., we could win 6 or more games this year.
Can't wait to see what we do on offense with this new staff. With a senior QB, the right game plan could win games we're not suppose to win.

Re: New ESPN big 12 reviews
Personally, I'd love to see a series against another regional Big 10 team like Wisconsin or Minnesota. Give us some more publicity with some of those big northern linemen who don't usually get a chance to watch Big XII football.

Minnesota
Why we don't have a game with Minn every year is beyond me. We should play Minn and Wisky in Basketball every year too.

Re: New ESPN big 12 reviews
Especially since Minnesota got a new football coach just like we did.

Re: New ESPN big 12 reviews
I'm kinda looking forward to that home-and-home with Utah in the upcoming seasons. I have a hard time justifying calling the Mountain West Conference a mid-major, and I think that series is going to be a really good one.

CU vs FSU, OU vs. Miami, ATM vs Miami, OSU vs. Georgia, KSU vs. Auburn, NU vs. Wake, and of course, USC vs NU. What about ISU vs Iowa? It just doesn't get us any recognition outside of Iowa; and in-state recruits already have their minds made up years ahead. I'd rather see ISU play MInnesota, UCLA or Auburn than EIU.

Yeah, but in your argument, you forget that FSU plays Florida, Miami plays Florida (every so often), and Georgia plays Georgia Tech, and those are rivalry games outside of conference. I agree that we should be playing better competition, but in addition to the Iowa game, not at the expense of it.

Re: New ESPN big 12 reviews
Our schedule last year looked to be one of the toughest in the nation , until Toledo, UNI, and Iowa turned out to be pushovers. If we're going to line up against nonconference "bowl teams", why not play someone nationally recognized? However, assuming Iowa is top twenty, then you add NU, Texas, Oklahoma, KSU, and another nonconference national power, you get six doubtful matchups along with 4 additional conference games that could go either way.
