"Johnson will be joined on the team by Ray Schafer (Oregon), Jay R Strowbridge (Nebraska), Josh Carter (Texas A&M), Jimmy Graham (Miami, Fla.), Matt Hall (Texas-Pan American), Jason Holsinger (Evansville), Michael Niemi (SMU), Jay Watkins (San Francisco) and Luke Zeller (Notre Dame). "
Maybe he can befriend Luke Zeller enough that he'd allow his younger brother, Tyler, to join Wes at Iowa State. Kinda like, if you don't go to Notre Dame, atleast go to Iowa State and play with Wesley Johnson.
Some people wear Superman pajamas. Superman wears Chuck Norris pajamas.
Shouldn't he have other things to worry about. Sure he will probably develop a friendship with Zeller but I don't think the point of the trip is to try and recruit the younger Zeller through the older one.
He has a great opportunity to make an impact and learn some things while on the trip. This trip will be a nice one for Wesley to see how his game measures up to other player on the team and those he will face.

I know, I wasn't suggesting he go on the trip to recruit Tyler. Frankly, I would expect the younger Zeller to have committed by August anyway. This trip is about Wesley and him getting the chance to compete against older players and improve his game.
As far as measuring up to the other players on the team, honestly I think he's the best player on the squad based on the roster they released.
