Foxsports.com is reporting that Barry Collier has accepted the Butler AD possition. No word on any possible replacements. This would put G-Mac as the seventh tenured coach in the Big XII before coaching a conference game.
When the Huskers take a hit, Im all smiles. Its probably better for him and his family to make this choice and knowing Nebraska, they will bounce back. Always do. Maybe they should hire Tommy Lee =)
I read on espn.com that Nevada's Mark Fox and Kent State's Jim Christians are the front runners. Christians worked with Pederson when they were at Pitt.
"If it was easy, someone else would have done it already." ISU Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard

How is this going to affect their recruits that they have already nabbed? Were there any that were thinking about ISU and Nebraska that might be swayed by this turn of events?
I doubt the recruits will leave. There is a good chance a better coach will sign up and will make good use of them.
As we saw with WM, athletes tend to commit to a coaching staff more than to a school. Losing Collier probably just speeds up what would have happened next spring anyway
It would no surprise me if a couple recruits don't show. How quick can the Huskers get a new coach? Can they do a Jamie Pollard search and get someone on board in less than a couple weeks? If so maybe they can salvage their current recruiting class. If not, I doubt kids would want to come to Nebraska without knowing the head coach. The kids would be better off going to prep school or JUCO to see how things pan out.
The bigger issue is if they bring in a mid-major coach, that guy has been recruiting a complete different talent level than what the Huskers need and this falls class could be a bust. The best hope would be a new coach hitting the JUCO's hard and focusing on a big class next spring.
