It's too quiet...

For Jamie's entire tenure here, there has almost always been some big news from Ames. One right after another - something significantly good (or a few times notsogood - See arrests) came from Ames.

Coaching changes, master plan, season ticket numbers, recruiting, etc.

Last spring/summer the buzz was Morgan out, G-Mac in. Football hype was big for '06.

Today, we're seem like we're well accustomed to G-Mac, the Chizik buzz has slowed for obvious reasons - that'll pick right back up with fall practices of course.

It seems Pollard gets antsy if Iowa State University isn't making the news for more than a couple weeks. I can't help but wonder what he's got up his sleeve.

Yeah, he got an extension - yet as far as the media goes - it was a flash in the pan. So what's next JP?

A swift move to eclipse 35,000 in football season ticket sales? Master Plan update? Or maybe he's now working feverishly behind the scenes to raise the dough needed.

I'm sure he's working hard, the man seems to know nothing else. I just don't like the quiet. It makes me antsy.

my guess is that he is working behind the scenes to raise the $$ needed for the Master Plan. Phase 1 is paid for and ready to go, and I am sure Jamie would love to announce a Phase 2 timeline.

He's a big Spiderman fan. Now that he has seen it, he can get back to work. I heard he really liked it too. Expect huge things this summer.

I imagine that if a Phase 2 timeline gets finalized at any time this summer, it's not going to be revealed until shorty before the football season begins, when they're doing their last-gasp huge push to sell season tickets. Excitement about finally having a tangible date for the "big" parts of the renovation will spur sales.

Can't have something new and exciting happen every week man just not enough going on to make it happen. JP just got an extension in the past week and that's not enough to keep you happy? That's something that created some buzz. It's the offseason so that news alone is more than you'd get most of the time. We still have FB season tickets sales going on that will make some news when milestones are reached.

Things should be getting fairly stable here soon as we have a stable of coaches that aren't going anywhere for awhile so can't debate that anymore. I think this is the part where Jamie needs ISU fans to "pony up" the funding for the list of things he's done the past couple years just to create this excitement. Jack Trice is not going to be full or the facilities upgrades done without the fans stepping up to the plate now. Jamie's set the table, time for us to put the food on the table and the guests to enjoy it.
