I was pretty disgusted myself. It seems like 90+ percent of people (including muslims) like the idea. But of course, DMRAG is against it. What really surprised me was the Pierre Pierce information. EIU sent a goon squad to persuade a rape victim not to press charges? Shouldn't that be illegal (witness tampering)?
I kept reading and reading trying to figure out what his point was and it turned out he really didn't have one. It's privately funded and participation is voluntary. How can bringing someone like this in be scrutinized. The Auburn story was a total stretch.
That was a win-win article for the cardinal and gold, they did not make JP or GC look bad but believe it or not Sean Keeler found a way to bring up Pierre Pierce and like hoosman says make Iowa look like goons.
That was one of the worst piece of journalism to come out of Locust St. After reading this, you would believe that every chaplain is an out of control booster in disguise.

Is it the gist of the article that has you so upset or are there particular quotes and paragraphs you have in mind? To me this is just news that I am glad to hear about, nothing negative and hopefully something positive that may seperate us from other schools on the recruiting trail and help in retaining atheletes once we have them. One example that comes to mind is the oline JC recruit (was Joe McMann his name) that left for academic and personal reasons. He said he left because he could not find someone to confined in. I hate to loose kids once we get them.
I don't like the implication that having a chaplain on staff will lead to problems that a couple of other schools had. A lot of these young men are a long ways from home and may need someone not on the coaching staff to confide in.

Easy Clones! Keeler maybe off his base as usual but this is not new at ISU........during the Johnny Majors era we had a chaplin at practices, locker room and games...........only Keeler makes a big deal about it again. SLOW news or SLOW writer. You be the judge.
