If you were in the Bulls Front Office....
Would you trade Luol Deng and Ben Gordon to the Lakers for Kobe Bryant? Discuss.
My opinion is that they need a star. Luol Deng could be but I'm talking about a prime time player (bryant, garnett). If they would trade for Kobe, the lineup would be:
PG-Hinrich
SG-Bryant
SF-Nocioni/Sefalosha
PF-Brown
C-Wallace

Re: If you were in the Bulls Front Office....
Wrong way to look at it, the Lakers would look completely foolish trading Kobe after they gave him the team by trading Shaq. They made Kobe the future. They would be really bad without him, which is funny because with him they are mediocre..

You have to keep Deng, have to. I'm not sure if you make that trade they are any closer to the title than they were this year. I think they're pretty close now, but they do need to get a player who can provide some offensive threat at the center position.

No. I think Skiles would kill him.

C-Wallace Can't happen. The salary numbers don't even come close to working out.

If you're going to make a huge trade, why wouldn't you go after the other name you mentioned? Kevin Garnett would give them the inside scoring that they lack.

On a side note Luol Deng has quite a few relatives that live in ames and one of them actually works at ISU as well.

Also Bryant wants out, so anything is possible. When he was a free agent a couple years back, he had his list down to 3 (Lakers, Clippers, Bulls). So if he wants out, theres no way he gets traded to the Clippers, which leaves the bulls.

Re: If you were in the Bulls Front Office....
The salaries are way off anyway. Deng is scheduled to make 3.3 million next season and Gordon 4.8. Kobe is looking at 19.4 million. The Bulls don't have any high salaries besides Wallace(15 mil) and Hinrich (11 mil). It would be very though to strike a deal here, but who knows.
All money aside, if I'm the Bulls I wouldn't do it.

He doesn't want out of LA, but he would like Jerry West to come back and run the Lakers again. LA is the only place that actually likes Kobe. Kind of like Barry Bonds and San Fancisco.

Re: If you were in the Bulls Front Office....
I think I would kill myself if the Bulls traded two great young players for a p.o.s rapist like Kobe. Getting KG is way more of a possibility; the Bulls need an inside scoring presence not a selfish baby. The Bulls will find someone with this years draft, even if they trade it away they will find someone.

I would trade Gordon and Deng for Bryant in a heartbeat. Well, if I wanted to contend anyway.

It seems that teams that have success are often centered around players who are the best human beings as well: Duncan, Nash, Nowitzki, O'Neal, etc. I don't see Kobe making that list any time soon, as he has shown himslef to be a me-first guy with a definte lack of maturity.

Personally I would love to see Garnett go to the Cavs. That would give the eastern conference a potentially dominant team and the east needs something like that badly.
