You will find no better people and coaches than those JP just dismissed. To compare the program now with the one run by Bergan isn't apples to apples given the circumstances and the conference. That being said it would have been nice to at least be in the top half of the conference. It's a shame that this group wasn't given the opportunity to use the fruits of the money that is supposedly going to flow into the cyclone athletic department under JP.

It's always sad when nice folks are dismissed. However, if you look where ISU track has been finishing in the Big 12 M/W indoor/outdoor track championships over the last six years, it's not been going very well. The teams are stagnating at the bottom of the conference. There's got to be other fundamental issues beyond money. It was time for a change.
