Gonzales' tenure denial appears to be because he can't or won't bring in grant dollars. Paltry sum. He says he publishes alot and that's more important. I'd say the tenure decision is more about money than his anti science beliefs.
I can accept the decision for what it is, if it is revenue based. On a related note, where do you think the research grants for climate change are going to? Does anyone think money, and the source of that money has anything to do with that?
Michael Chrichton wrote a paper on that very subject. Maybe I can find it somewhere. Basically, he asks the question on whether studies supporting human caused climate change attract money, or whether money is attracting studies supporting human caused climate change.
It's an interesting and refreshing question, that is a breath of fresh air in contrast to the "spittle-flying" screed that gets put out on the "pro" side of the human caused climate change folks.
