Who is tired of...?
Political posts and such (Iowa)?
When I went to our dear site, the front page threads were
Iowa
Uniforms (ack)
Muslims
Christian
Illegal aliens
Cyclone
Cyclone
Cyclone
That is half (the uniform topic is really weak...) not related to our beloved Cyclones. I hate the summer topics.... and more yet those who have enjoy political discussions... If we are all going to waste our time away, lets at least talk about the Cyclones!!!

Re: Who is tired of...?
The religion threads are not my cup of tea to participate in, but they make for some interesting reading material before bed when I catch up.

Re: Who is tired of...?
To be fair, the chaplain issue, which is directly related to the Muslim and Christian threads, are brothers to Cyclone sports.

Re: Who is tired of...?
Yes, and in recent weeks other topics have focused on global warming, gas prices, Iraq, dem and rep debates, and Steve Deace's poltical-religious takes etc... granted its a slow time of the year for ISU sports, but I've always enjoyed CF as a fun place to go to and to escape these topics for a few moments of my day, but I guess they permeate everything.
I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. Thomas Jefferson, 1802 -
Re: Who is tired of...?
If it was up to me, there'd be recruiting news year around. But without it, I suppose non-sports related topics are bound to pop up, especially around slow times of the year like now. I can live with it, I just don't get into it as much as some other members here do.

Re: Who is tired of...?
Well there is always Women's Soccer, Tennis, Track and Softball to talk about. "pulse" what else is there to talk about when every fricken topic that has to do with basically ISU Men's sports has already been discussed? It's summer of course there isn't going to be anything huge to talk about.

Re: Who is tired of...?
I love being able to come to this forum and be able to discuss a wide variety of topics. Honestly, most of the threads on here don't interest me at all, so I don't read them, let alone add my own thoughts. But if there are other Cyclone fans interested in those topics and they enjoy discussing them with fellow Cyclones, then great. I don't understand why there are members of Cyclone Fanatic that are upset that there are other ISU fans that are interested in discussing topics other than ISU sports.

During the football and basketball season, the topics dominating conversation will be the teams, the games and the players. In the off-season, if we don't find something to talk about, people would either break down every player down to their favorite color of underwear, or many would just stop coming to the site until fall. One of the coolest parts of debating fellow Cyclones on the issues of the day, is that by and large you can air your thoughts, and almost everyone is respectful of each other. -
Re: Who is tired of...?
For those who don't like it, feel free to bring up new topics. Despite my continued participation, I don't particularly care for the conversations. I'm tapped for ideas, but I'll give it a shot.
Anybody see how green the grass is inside Jack Trice????
It's still better than listening to M&M in the afternoon. Did anybody listen to those two dolts yesterday. I'm heading over to Office Depot around 6:00 and these two are raving on and on (mostly Marty) about Ron Maly having a topless picture on his blog of A-Rod's girlfriend. I go inside, do some shopping, come back out - and they're still jabbering about it. And apparently one of them got it "stuck" on their desktop and had to have callers help get it off. So we've gone from sports radio to talking about a blog that doubles as a soft-core porn site....
Personally, I think this place is rather "enlightened".

Re: Who is tired of...?
How freakin' lazy can a person be that they can't ignore a thread? How pompous can they be that they think they should dictate what other people shoud discuss? Geeesh.

Re: Who is tired of...?
For the record, this thread was in fun. I don't mind people discussing everything and anything, I just had to laugh when I went to the front page and saw the 'recent threads' listed above.

I also heard a rumor (not sure I'm able to give this information out...it may be premimum info on "another site"...but I'll do it anyway) that there was a mole hill on the 15 yard line. Don't get fooled into believing that the mole lives on the south 15 yard line either. It really is located on the north side of the field...so it's a pretty big deal.

I've heard the same thing. But what I can't figure out is are they going to use the straight up TurfBuilder, the TurfBuilder II with Weed Control, of the Turf Builder II with pre-emergent crabgrass preventer.
????????
I really, really hope JP takes control of this situation - supposedly there was a post the other day on HN.com that kinnick is having a springtime dandellion problem.
As for the mole - I have it on good authority (maybe Jeremy can confirm this) that JP's hatchet act continues - he's already fired the assistant head greenskeeper (presser at 6:00 so it gets on the news live) and at the top of his shortlist is Carl Spackler

Re: Who is tired of...?
Actually, these are the threads I despise the most!! They are worthless!
Pulse, and anyone else who ******* about threads, let me give you a solution that would really help all of us.
I've got cable, and on my cable I have 3 spanish channels. I don't know why? I didn't ask for them. And my fiance doesn't speek spanish, since she is American. When I'm thumbing through the channels during a commercial break for The Office, Deadliest Catch, Sportscenter...what have you....I always come across a channel that I have no interest in, most likely because they're speaking the language predominately used in Mexico. A language of which I do not speak. But instead of leaving it on that channel, while letting my blood pressure and stupidity rise, I simply move on to another more enjoyable channel of my liking. And you know what? The people around me really appreciate that I think.
