I am too. I have all of them including all the handhelds. I just though it was funny that the pre-DS Gameboy advance is still selling.

That's the exact issue that's concerning a lot of folks- the combination of Sony's incredible arrogance, the comparatively microscopic install base and sales rate, and the difficulty of developing for the ***-backwards Cell are making a ton of developers/publishers either pull their PS3 projects entirely, or take the former-exclusives and make them multiplatform.
Two counterpoints that I feel should be mentioned:
1) Yes, the PS3 has built-in WiFi. The 360 doesn't (yet- I'll bet my money it will when they do the hardware revisions after the Elite's limited run is over, and all by the end of the year). But buying a WiFi adapter for the 360 is still a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a PS3.
2) PS3 has Blu-ray. That's wonderful. But what happens if Blu-ray loses the format war? It's not doing too hot right now, despite all the money Sony's pumping into it. Even the release of the first two Pirates movies exclusively on BR generated less than 48% of the revenue they projected. If BR dies a year or two down the road, you have invested in an expensive coaster. And yes, I realize that similar arguments could be made postulating that HDDVD might fail, but HD isn't built into the 360, so it's a purely optional investment. If HD fails, but you haven't bought the addon, then you're not out any money.
I'm no 360 fanboy. I own neither system, because I just don't have the disposable income to sink into a current-gen system. I do, however, have a fairly universal dislike for propaganda, and I appreciate that the 360 has some distinct advantages that the PS3 can't necessarily counter. BTW, just hold the controllers from each system- the 360 feels incredible, and the PS3 feels like the love child of a boomerang and a brick. 360 has rumble, PS3 has laughably bad "motion-sensing" that Sony absolutely positively did NOT shamelessly and poorly rip off from Nintendo no way no how.

When they start giving problems cute little names you know you have some issues. This isn;t the problem forum. It's the main forum.

Re: PS3 or XBox 360?
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the PS3 hasnt been out long enough. It will have its issues as well. Sony doesnt exactly always perfect their electronics.

I'm a very active member of the 360 forums. So nothing there surprises me.
I'm sorry would you like me and the 99% of us with 360 (edit: 360s that work perfectly) to start making a thread everyday that we wake up and everything works fine???

Tenchu Z No it doesn't I already said that I agree that RIGHT NOW the X360 has better games. It's been out a year longer.

Re: PS3 or XBox 360?
I refuse to do "research" with information from just forums. I like to think I'm a bit more educated than that. Those that yell the loudest do not make the norm.
While those issues may have been around from day 1, we are no longer at day 1. We are many days from there.
I do my research by the people that I personally know and trust and can see in the 'real world' not just online forums.

Re: PS3 or XBox 360?
Its Microsoft, my man. Look at the Windows launches. they will get it right 2nd edition. =) Sony went through a bunch of hardware issues during manufacturing. They had the opportunity to learn from Microsoft and from their own woes before release. I think Sony needs to release a system first next time around. Sandbaggers.

The Xbox keeps introducing more models but the developers have to develop for the base system. The Ps3 only had 2 models (1 now) and they were equal in processing power. The Blue Ray drive also allows developers to get a lot on one disk. Don;t be surprised if you don;t start seeing 360 games come on multiple discs. Not a big deal just something to think about. You're mixing your gaming news. Here's how it's going. Right now there is the Core model (no HD) and the Premium model (20GB HD). The new Elite model (120GB HD) will be released soon in a limited run. When the Elite is gone, Microsoft will be phasing everything down a step. What I mean is that the hardware that is inside the black Elite package will replace the hardware that is in the current Premium (the white case stays, though). The current Premium hardware will replace the current Core hardware. It's unlcear what will happen with the names, but that's a moot point- The old Premium will be the new Core, and the old Elite will be the new Premium, and no prices go up. They can do this because not only is the market demanding it, but their production processes have streamlined enough that their costs are dropping. It happens with every console to a varying degree and at varying speeds.
So no, MS doesn't "keep introducing more models". Except for the brief Elite run, they're staying with a 2-SKU setup; they're just changing what's inside each SKU and making it better. Yes, developers are wise to develop for the lesser of the two SKUs (though certainly not all of them do), and that's the other reason why it's in Microsoft's best interests to upgrade the models. Now even the basic package can reasonably handle anything devs throw onto the market, instead of needing 3 memory cards for all your game saves.

Re: PS3 or XBox 360?
Now on the side of the PS3 many industry leaders are predicting a price cut in the near future. So that will go a LONG way for them.
Still need the games though. I don't want a toaster if I don't have any bread to toast.

Ha ha nice analogy. Is Sony still losing money out their ears? If so, a price cut might not help. I suppose if they sell a ton of games it should ease out.

Re: PS3 or XBox 360?
I think that how Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction (great game, BTW) was solely released for PS2, but the sequel, Mercenaries 2, being released for all formats, is an indication that game companies that aren't owned by Sony aren't convinced that the public is going to buy into the PS3 like Sony thinks it will. When I heard that Mercenaries 2 was going to all formats it was the final straw that told me I made the right decision in getting an XBOX 360 (btw, if you don't have an HDTV, what's the point of HDMI?)
