Keepin' it Real
Not sure if anyone has seen it but on WHOTV.com under sports there is a clip of B-Ross talking about ISU winning the Most Dominate Mascot poll. Pretty funny!

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

Re: Keepin' it Real
That was pretty dumb. A lot of the "big" schools weren't even in the contest.

I'm not familiar with the person in that video (been out of the state too long I think). Anyone have his eMail?? I feel like a bit of creative writing today :)

My best guess is that there would be even more geeks at those schools that would steamroll through the competition.

Point two came from Jamie Pollard in a conversation at the Sioux City tailgate. I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone. -

Point two came from Jamie Pollard in a conversation at the Sioux City tailgate. Amen. That's exactly how I see it. Anything that brings attention to ISU (aside from criminal athletes) is a good thing, and anything that gets Cyclone fans excited about our teams and seasons is a great thing.

Re: Keepin' it Real
Although it wasn't funny, I have to admit he had a point. The poll was fun (I voted multiple times myself), but meaningless. I think the less we make of this as an athletic department the better.

When Keepin It Real......Goes Wrong

Re: Keepin' it Real
Casual CBS website visitors probably voted in the competition... There were probably many people who weren't even ISU fans who voted for the cyclones. For instance, Wyoming played a part in our victory over MSU obviously. How can other schools supporting ISU be a bad thing?
You can say it was meaningless and not important... but if it is so unimportant why do you give it newsspace? He got paid to make a skit about it because apparantly it carried some sort of value. Kind of an oxymoron to say news is unimportant and meaningless.....

Re: Keepin' it Real
The media still would have just made fun of Iowa State if we lost in the first round by 500,000 votes, too.

Re: Keepin' it Real
I think B-Ross has a great point and it's funny how some of you are taking such offense to it. Yeah it's nice that we won but if you are from the outside looking in and saw we cast how many million votes you'd think we are just a bunch of computer geeks. We didn't win anything meaningful so the fact we have people making a big deal that we won this is kinda funny.
Like he said, we won a national title in what? B-Ross is an ISU fan for those of you that are going to start calling him a Hawk lover cuz I know there are some of you thinking that now I bet.
