Who is Eric Henderson, ISU?

Eric Henderson is one of the assistant coaches. I actually grew up with him - his younger sister was in my class and he was a couple years ahead of me. Was a fun player to watch in high school.

Excited to see he'll be playing this summer.

Coincidentally, he's playing for CIO - the place that did my knee surgeries.

When it says 1 vs. 2., i am guessing that means the first two teams on the roster list play each other....?

This is the way it came to me so I am assuming that top one is #1 and the bottom one is #6. I will do some checking to confirm this.

I thougth this may have been brought up last year, but how are the assitant coaches allowed to be in the same league as their players. I know they don't run the practices but I would think they would be doing some coaching with their guys.

Coaches can't participate but Henderson is a graduate manager according to Cyclones.com.

Cyclone graduate manager Eric Henderson is a Wayne State graduate...he was a member of McDermott’s NCAA Tournament teams in 1999 and 2000...Henderson averaged 11.7 points and 11.0 rebounds as a senior to help lead the Wildcats to the NCAA D-II Sweet Sixteen in 2000

However, I wonder about these player and staff limitations...


e) Player Limitations

(1) Number from Any One College. Each team shall include on its roster no more than two players with intercollegiate basketball eligibility remaining from any two-year or four-year college (other than a Divisions II and III member institution);

How are we able to have 3 players per team??


(g) Staff Limitations

(1) Neither the league nor any member team shall have on its staff or as a participant any person associated in any employment capacity with any two-year or four-year college, except that institutional employees who are not athletics department staff members and do not have responsibilities directly related to the athletics department may serve as game officials.

How are Eric Henderson and Erik Crawford eligible to play??

No idea and to be honest - I don't care. Not being snippy either - I just don't care.

In fact, I'm glad they are playing. Should be a fun little rivalry to see on the court when these two face one another.

I want to see what Brackins and Taylor can do together. I'm also curious about Harrison Barns on Central Iowa Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Clinic. It will be an interesting look at a future Cyclone.
