Re: Recruits who have apparently made it to ISU.
The great part of this list...if it holds up, is that ISU will have a big fast receiver to pair with Blythe, a legitimate defensive back to shore up a make shift backfield, and (hopefully) a big time running back. We also have to have help in the OL, and players to step up on the DL. Getting JUCOs in is a crap shoot at best. Looks like Chizik may know how to roll the dice.

No offense, but Wallace franklin isnt the end all be all of WR. We have a GREAT compliment to Blythe in Sumrall. I cant wait to see what Bell and Lyle can do. Kellerman was my favorite pick up of last year, even though i knew nothing about him, other than his size. Hope the hype was warranted. Hopefully there are guys that can fill in on the OL, and JJ Bass can run in straight up field for some positive yardage.

Its hard not to top last years record. =)

When your offensive and defensive lines are both ranked last in the Big 12 - that won't yield ya too many victories - no matter what kind of talent you have behind them.

Re: Recruits who have apparently made it to ISU.
Sorry, i have a more positive outlook. We may surprise. Im not expecting a dominating year, but I still see some positives coming this season even if others see it as a wash year.

I too expect positives, don't get me wrong.
I am just not sure these positives will show up in the win column, but instead be some of the things we saw with our recent basketball season.

I don't know, Franklin has something that ISU hasn't had in awhile at WR...SPEED. He's not going to get run down by a LB like Sumrall did. Line Franklin up wide and run him down the field. He's got the size and speed to beat a CB one on one. And the safety is going to have to at least respect him deep, which might make him think twice about just rolling over to wherever Blythe is.
Run Franklin deep, Blythe can go deep or sideline, Sumrall, Barkema and Moses can work the middle. That sounds pretty dangerous to me.

We had a dangerous group last season too. Injuries and horrible line play made them no more dangerous than grandmothers in wheelchairs.
If we're going to utilize the talent we have at the receiver position, the offensive line will need to play much better, we'll need to be able to run the ball and Bret will need to make improvements from last season.
Otherwise '07 will be another year of wasted wide receiver talent.
