    Re: Don't tell Pollard.

No offense to Pollard because I'm as big of a fan as the next cyclone but what has he done that would make him attractive for that job? He has a lot of plans for Iowa State but nothing has really come to fruition just yet. Except for building excitement, he has done a great job of that. Give it another 2-3 years and I think the situation will be completely different but as of right now, there are a lot of plans/dreams but none have really been realized yet.

    Re: Don't tell Pollard.

The commish is definitly gone, it's starting to make the rounds on the AP and whatnot.

There is no way he would get the job with his "revenue sharing" idea on the table, UT's AD's head would explode.

Apparently the UT AD is likely to get the job according to the rumor mill around the internet.

This topic is huge....if a "southern" guy gets this job it could spell trouble.

Would it really surprise anyone if a Texas guy gets the job? I still love it how some fan from one of the Big 8 schools brings the Big 8 banner to the Big 12 MBB Tournament.

I hope the Texas guy doesn't get it he'll probably start to push to get ISU and CU out of the big 12. You can only allow Texas so much power before it gets bad.

I'm sure that the Texas shools will hand pick his replacement and I'm thinking that is not JP

So would they change it to the Big 10 then?

Why would they want to get CU and ISU out?

    Re: Don't tell Pollard.

I don't think the commish job would be challenging enough for Pollard. It's more of an administrative job than anything and an AD job is more "hands on" and has more exciting aspects to it.

No one is going to push anyone out. ISU has had more sucess in the big 12 than some of the texas schools, what has TT or Baylor done? aTM has only been good in bball 1 year, and their football team is only slightly better than ISU in the last few years.

Two words TCU and Arkansas (or some other teams from the old SWC). Most of the Texas teams see playing us as an inconvenience. At least that's the vibe I get from other message boards.

I wouldn't take the word of fans on message boards to be representative of the direction southern athletic departments feel the Big 12 should go.

    Softball regular season

    aTm:
