This is absolutely tragic news. As an alum of IU, i am especially saddened by this.

That's horrible. :( He had Indiana headed in the right direction, too. I can't imagine how his family and players must be feeling right now.

Actually, I was going to respond to that post along the lines of at least IU doesn't have to worry about finding an interim coach for a year and flipping back, the worry of what recruits will think, etc. They can now just handle the funeral and mourning process, then get on to thinking about the future.
Once again, that's really sad that happened.

What a shame. Got to feel bad for Indiana. They make a commitment to their program, and they won't get rewarded by a guy who showed, in his first year, the ability to win program making games. Now he won't get to finish the job.

terrible news he definately had indy goin in the right direction!
j dogg, where did you get married? i was at a wedding on that day also, cept they were huge hawk fans, and they kept showing clips of the chokeyes. then afterwards, when they found out EIU had just lost to indy, the groom was one ****** off drunk!! it certainly made for one heck of an entertaining reception!

I got married at Homewood E Free in Moline, IL, and had my reception at the Elk's Lodge in Davenport. Many of my friends and "new" family were heart broken that day... I won't let it happen. You can't turn a dead coach post into a where did you get married post.

Wasn't the intent - I was just commenting on how Terry Hoeppner and Indy helped make my wedding day just a little bit sweeter, not that ISU did me any favors against kNebraska that day...
