Beating Iowa?
If we did win this weekend would it be a bigger win for our program than the win at Nebraska last year? The win at Neb was huge but a win against our top ten ranked rivals at their place would also be huge.

Re: Beating Iowa?
Not even close. The Nebraska win was bigger. Look at our record in Lincoln compared to our record in Iowa City.

Nebraska win was much, much bigger.

Re: Beating Iowa?
Nebraska win last year > any win over Iowa outside of 1998.

Re: Beating Iowa?
While a top 10 road win would be an unprecedented accomplishment for our program, winning in conference is what will ultimately drive our success. And the last time we won in Lincoln, it was 1977; the last time we won in Iowa City was 2002.

Re: Beating Iowa?
But the last time we beat a really good Iowa team in Iowa City?
They're both huge. This helps with in-state kids that may/may not be on the fence, and it is on ABC/ESPN2, so the coverage of this win would be much bigger.

Re: Beating Iowa?
I think this would be huge as far as experience goes. We need to have a culture of going on the road and expecting to win.

Re: Beating Iowa?
It would be a big win for sure, but nowhere near as big as the Nebraska win was last year.

Re: Beating Iowa?
Nebraska hands down...conference win is always better than non-conference win.
2002...Hawks would rather have lost to isu than a conference game without a doubt.

Re: Beating Iowa?
No win would be bigger then winning the big 12 north. One win does not make a program, many big wins will (boise st).

I'm pretty sure the last time we won in Iowa City ('02) was the year they won the Big Ten and went to the Rose Bowl. It might have been 2000, though. Either way, we have won in IC against a quality Iowa team much more recently than we've won in Lincoln against any level Nebraska team before last year.
My memory might be failing me on the years, however, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Beating Iowa?
I get what the OP is asking.. but last year is last year.
A win at Iowa could very well be the difference between post season and not, much like NU was last season.
Iowa is a top 10 team this year. A win in IC would be monumental for CPR. Legitimizes the NU win even more. But we only have one more round versus NU as well.
Going forward, we compete against, and will continue to be measured against Iowa... in about every sense. Recruiting, press, etc
Last years win in Lincoln was huge. But it's done and going forward, has very little measurable impact, IMO. As long as the Iowa game is continued to be played, that game will always mean something to this program.

I agree the Iowa game will always mean something, but more than beating the best of the Big 12? No way.

Re: Beating Iowa?
Last year in Lincoln was a bigger win. A win against NU this year would also be a bigger than a win in Kinnick.
