#42 AND rated behind 3 teams that lost opening week. Hardly the stuff of "serious" national title contenders.

Of course, this poll has Boise and TCU 1-2 and Cowherd would tell you that can't be true.

I'm a huge Cyclone fan and a huge Hawkeye hater, but I'll be the first to tell you this is a bad argument.

Sagarin ratings are absolutely, positively worthless after one week.

So, Iowa's predicted to win the ISU game by ~6 points?

Anyway, this early on, the Sagarin ratings might not match-up with the preseason predictions, depending who you played as your first game. Future SOS isn't, to the best of my knowledge, part of the equation. Just the games you've played SO FAR.

Dude this is after week 1, did you notice the SOS? ISU is suppose to have a top 3 SOS but currently sit at 128th. This is why the computer polls (and all others) are completely useless until after a week or 2 of conference play or the middle of October. Check back the first of November and see how different this is.

The only argument I get in with people regarding the Saragin Rating is how to pronounce "Saragin".

Other than that, it's pretty useless anytime it comes out.
