Re: Really? Who is still all about Arnaud???
Have these coaches even been looking to recruit quality qb's. If they think so little of AA's backups I'd can't wait to what next year will look like.

Re: Really? Who is still all about Arnaud???
This just the samething hat has happened when Bret Meyer was a senior. Everyone wanted him benches. I don't care who is the QB is as long as we are competitive. Until you people are the coach of this team, AA is still going to be the starter.

AA is a great leader of this team. AA is a posative person and a nice guy. AA is the best quarterback on the team. Unfortunatly, AA is not a very good football player.

Re: Really? Who is still all about Arnaud???
AA can throw swing passes. He can throw to open people over the middle. He can hit 60 per cent. Yet he has never mastered the touch pass that floats in over the defenders reach. He doe not have that pass in the reportoire. This limits the type of passes he makes and makes it difficult to deliver downfield one into a covered receiver, which is usually our case.

AA is our best option right now. Today's game is not the problem. It is just a symptom of a bigger problem. We were 9-3 with a solid QB (Sage). We haven't had one since. Wallace was a freak athlete that could get away with some stuff because of his playmaking ability. But his teams were mediocre at 7-5 and 7-7. Meyer was the same QB as a freshman as he was as a senior. His teams went 7-5, 7-5, 4-8, 3-9. Now Arnaud is carrying on the tradition of decent runners with limited passing ability. AA's teams are 2-10 and 7-6 so far. As a senior, he pretty much is what he is gonna be at this point, and our schedule is very tough all year. Maybe Tiller will be different next year...but I have not seen anything from him to make me think he will break from our recent tradition. We need to recruit a passing QB. Having a ground game is why we recruit runningbacks. It doesn't matter how good our receivers are if our "quarterback" is not getting them the ball.

Re: Really? Who is still all about Arnaud???
he looked like absolute dog ****....again. time to start working in some of the younger guys.
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come. -
Re: Really? Who is still all about Arnaud???
I haven't read through this entire thread but we are in trouble if AA is our best qb. I gave him the benefit of the doubt this year because of the 3 Offensive Coords in his time here, but all I heard pre-season was how this was going to be his year as it's his second year with the same OC. Well he's still making the same terrible throws. I know the line didn't play well but you need a QB that is going to make some plays. He is not that QB. He hasn't gotten any better since his freshman year. And the fact that no one else got in there today makes me even more negative on the future.

Re: Really? Who is still all about Arnaud???
I really thought Austin reverted back to his old throwing style in this game. Long stride which lowers his height a few inches hence balls tipped at the line. Also slower delivery. Just trying to throw it harder I think. He also seems to be a head case if he is talking about the Iowa td drought at the Big 12 meetings.

He became the AA of old vs AA of last week and forced the ball.
