TD streak being over really getting under the skin of some Squawks
Yeah, yeah...it was scrub time and shouldn't "technically count".
Whatever....7 pts is 7 pts. We give you credit for beating the snot out of our team so quit being such a poor winner and acting like the TD streak didn't end because you had some backups in at the end.
Streak OFFICIALLY over....deal with it.

The guy in front of me was giving me crap about that. I just said: "Well you do realize that during that TD drought, ISU won one of the games right?" He did not remember that, but then admitted that this "steak" talk was pretty silly, and it really was only a 1 game shutout.

Re: TD streak being over really getting under the skin of some Squawks
I wish we hadn't allowed it, because I just wanted to be able to say it had been 5 years since the Clones had scored a TD against us. You guys did take a game from us in that run, but I'll take the odds of winning when all you give up are FG's every day of the week.
I was still more than satisfied wit the win though. Makes me feel better about the game next week (it's still going to be close). Best of luck to you guys the rest of the season!

TBQH I don't have any idea why we had our first team starters in against their second and third stringers. Seemed kinda classless to me, even embarrassing. Also, what if Arnaud or Robinson would have gotten injured? CPR showed his true colors yesterday, IMO.

This Hawkeye fan is glad the streak ended the way it did. I didn't want that streak to be used as motivation for next year's team and then build momentum if they got an early TD next year.

Personally, I just don't like giving you guys that TD, so late in the game....we were so close to finishing another game keeping ISU out of the endzone.
But I'll take a 35-7 victory any day, and give ISU a small victory, than give ISU more motivation next year.

Re: TD streak being over really getting under the skin of some Squawks
First of all, Iowa is lucky that ISU was playing at its worst in the first place. (Not that it changed the outcome at all... might have made it worse...) Secondly, does the streak mean anything when ISU won one of the games? What matters is the scoreboard and Iowa has dominated that for the past two years. AA threw two interceptions in the red zone yesterday. ISU was so shellshocked that it took them awhile to open up and throw interceptions ;)

I know most of the people sitting around me in Kinnick weren't even aware of the streak. To be honest, without message boards I doubt I would have realized it either.
As for Rhodes keeping his starters in, I had no problem with it. Actually, I was happy he did. I would much rather our third team defense get reps against them than your second or third team offense. Will benefit us in the future.

Wait, are you on the team, or just watching and cheering on the players like the rest of us?

But, as a defense, you can definitely take some pride in putting your offense in prime position to win the game. If you're only giving up FG's, the odds say you won the game. Which is a big reason why we won 2 of 3 when we didn't allow a TD, and very nearly did it again yesterday.
