Shontrelle Johnson
We need to see ALOT more of him in the rest of the season. This kid showed he is the real deal this past week. I dont care if we see him in the slot, or taking a few carries away from Arob. We just need to get him going, because he is going to be our starter for the next 3 years after this one. His speed on kick return is just eye opening. This kid is going to be special in years to come.

Re: Shontrelle Johnson
He needs to work on not dancing quite so much. Both behind the line and on kickoff returns, but I think the potential is there to be something special.

Re: Shontrelle Johnson
About the only bright spot yesterday was the play of this kid.

Re: Shontrelle Johnson
He will return a kickoff return for a TD this year, I'm calling it.

Re: Shontrelle Johnson
Rabbitt or whatever he calls himself needs to stop dancing so much... once that is fixed, the kid is going to be special. I'm all for jukes and dancing at certain times, but sometimes put your head down and run.

Re: Shontrelle Johnson
The kid is 18, give him a break. Why does everything have to be turned into a negative?

Re: Shontrelle Johnson
Just re-watched the game again and I'm pumped to see him going forward. One thing he missed though was they had a perfectly set up reverse where Arnaud handed to Shontrelle and he ran to the left side of the line. A-Rob was coming around from the slot and I'm guessing Shontrelle had the option to pitch it. He kept it and got tackled for a 1-2 yard gain. If he'd have given it to A-Rob he would have had a huge gain because the Iowa defense was all flowing the wrong way.
Oh well.

Re: Shontrelle Johnson
I thought his play was rather lovely. The rest of the guys, not so much.

Re: Shontrelle Johnson
KSU will crowd the box so Shontrelle may be one answer this week.

His dancing was more than likely a product of an offensive line being pushed around a little bit by the d-line. From all that I have heard, he could really be something nice.
Oh...and btw, dunno if you caught the game yesterday, but Kirby got in a few times. I wouldnt be surprised if we saw both Kirby and Dan get action this year. I dont think we saw Kuehl's full potential in the NIU game.

Shontrelle is going to be very good. The future looks bright for him.

Re: Shontrelle Johnson
He's a true freshman weighing in at around 179 pounds...in his first real game time, on the road against what might be the best defense in the country. So if he "danced" a little too much I'd say that's a small thing to fix...and something he WILL be coached out of very quickly. On the other hand, he showed some WICKED explosiveness and a shiftiness that even ARob lacks...though at this point Arob is obviously the better overall back. That said, just from the little we saw...I'd say his ceiling is well above Arobs over the course of these next 4 seasons...put 10 pounds of muscle on the kid and a year working on his speed, flexibility, and zone-block reading skills....and we'll have something VERY special on our hands.
