Just looking at the numbers McFarland wins this battle up til now. McFarland's offense was apparently better suited to AA & I am wondering what percentage of the time is AA being asked to make plays that really dont fit him or he doesn't really feel comfortable with. Is Herman tuned into AA enough to recognize if this is happening? Is the problem all AA or is it also the OC who isn't wired into AA's tendencies and therefore doesn't make adjustments? Smart and people smart do not always correlate highly.

I posted pretty much the same thing yesterday ---- McFarland recognized AA's shortcomings and moved him away from there and into his comfort zone -- AA's best ball was 24 months ago
McFarland bowl wins at ISU: 0
Herman bowl wins at ISU: 1

What are his strengths and weaknesses? If a weakness is throwing the ball on 5 yard slants then you are going to be in bad shape no matter who the OC is. I think AA runs the ball more now, which is a strength. AA has not been able to make a lot of throws you need to be able to make. I still think he's our best option, but I cannot see him leading us to 8 or 9 wins. Hopefully he proves me wrong.
