5 minutes or so left, deep in your own end. I love Dan McCarney, but that's a call he wouldn't have made. Even when they lost the ball on downs, the defense stiffened and held KSU to a field goal, and left us with enough time to drive down for a possible tie. That took balls, and I think it was the right call.

I was proud of it. Showed we were really playing to win, no matter what it took.

I think it was more a sign of a realization that we could not stop three straight Thomas runs from getting a first down and running out the clock.

I think there is that, too, but at least we have a coach that was willing to make that realization.

Based on all the facts (little time left and Thomas State Uni) it was the only call to make.

The defense was stopping nothing. They had previously caused a three and out, but K-state was just trying to milk the clock and make ISU use its time outs. Going for it on 4th down was the right thing to do. You could see the CPR had no confidence in his defense.
