I am looking forward to tailgating.
We are a tailgating school with a football problem!
I actually heard someone, sitting behind me yesterday when the score was tied say "it's hot out and the RV has a blender for nice cold drinks - why are we still here?".
If our fans put as much into cheering as tailgating we would be a very envyed fan base.
No need to be defensive - I'm sure you get to your seat well before kickoff and are into the game cheering and don't leave at halftime and come back halfway through the 3rd quarter - it is those that do these things that prove they care more about drinking than about the game.
UNI will be a BIG game. The offense needs toi get their mettle going. We need a win to get ready for Utah.
I was at the UNI game yesterday and their starting QB got hurt in the 3rd quarter (i believe) and he never came back.
They have a VERY shifty running back - small guy kind of reminds me of Garrett Wolfe from NIU back in the day.
They lost the game by turning the ball over in the red zone on multiple occasions. They are a good team.
Oh, and pretty much all of UNI's points yesterday came on plays that went for 50+yards. They also returned a kick or punt for a touchdown.
I think this will be a great game if UNI can fix their serious ball security issues. 5 fumbles in the red-zone in 2 games. They should have scored 40 in the last two games and I expect they will move the ball against ISU, but it's not going to matter if they turn it over.
I think SFA pretty well showed how to get the UNI defense on their heels (at least in the first half). Quick, precise, short passes, no huddle offense making it difficult to make defensive substitutions. They averaged a play like every 18 secs.
I'm sure UNI is pretty good this year, but I think this is one game where the Cyclones will be able to physically manhandle them (as they should). I think it also helps that it's the 4th game of the season, as the team will be clicking a bit better.
I'll guess ISU 45, UNI 17
One...a team doesn't have to be great to beat ISU. And two....it will be a really tough game. But look at the schedule.....just like wet concrete.....it's only going to get harder. We better lace them up and get a win....because other than maybe KU or CU....rare as hen's teeth comes to mind.
I just think our guys need to look in the mirror and step up. We dont have a leader on D/O. Its time to stop messing around and earn the right to be a D-1 player.
I'm looking forward to my first tailgating experience ever. Marching band for 4 years and this is the first game I get to come back as a fan. Hopefully, it'll be a wonderfully memorable experience.
