I bring a even more people, (that wouldn't normally come to Ames) to support the team, for the mere fact that I provide the ability to watch the game. That's better than nothing... Way more likely to sell tickets when people are at the stadium, rather than at home.
Thanks for legitimate responses.
Gotta love trying to justify something that really isn't justifiable.

I got an idea. How about they buy hill side tickets and can watch the game on the large monitor behind the south end zone. It's a bigger than any tv in the tailgating lots.

Re: ISU vs UNI TV in the tailgate lot
Dude your going to spend a lot more money buying equipment and such for this to work than you would for 10 people to have RESERVED seats not hillside...at least pay the cheaper way and go for at least hillside.

Folks,
Agree or disagree, it is some ones personal decision on how to spend their own money.
We can disagree, but should not *****, it is their money.

We can disagree, but should not *****, it is their money. If you're making the effort to drive to Ames, park in the tailgating area, AND set up A/V equipment in order to watch the game without going in -- the very game that's being played a couple of hundred yards from where you already are! -- then you're part of the problem, and people have every right to be up in arms about it.
It also means you forfeit your right to complain about facility upgrades and ticket sales.

The setup is for his friends that he brings that otherwise wouldn't even be in the lots. The fact that he brings them means there's a shot that they'll decide to buy tickets and go in.

Re: ISU vs UNI TV in the tailgate lot
Probably a better chance the OP ends up out at halftime never to return as well.

Re: ISU vs UNI TV in the tailgate lot
Not a big fan of people watching the game 100 yards away in a tailgating lot...
