Was anybody else jealous of K-State's playcalling?

In the first half alone they ran a reverse to a WR and a statue of liberty play...the statue of liberty play was a thing of beauty. It really should've gone for a TD as well as it was set up with the 3 lineman pulling.

Just found myself being jealous of their creativity...really thought Herman was going to run an offense a lot like that...creative plays that get your playmakers involved.

It has only been 2 games so I'm sure there are plenty of tricks up Herman's sleeve...at least I hope so.

I was - and I imagine our players probably wonder at what point are we going to run something different. I know you have to learn to execute the normal plays but it is the trick type plays that helps make it fun & exciting for the players.

Synder has a tradition of throwing a couple new plays every game in that the opposing team hasn't seen on tape. He's just incredible at dialing them up at the perfect time.

It all works great when you have an offense and a running back getting 10+ yards a crack.

Me. I cannot believe we could not run a similar offense right now with Tiller at QB, he is faster than Caufmann. Also where the hell is this "Wild Cyclone" offense at?

i nearly put my fist through the wall when they ran that statue of liberty on 3rd and 17 (or w/e it was).

The play i was most impressed with was the reverse. Heres why: they had given it to thomas like 5 times on that drive and 5 times the previous drive- and he had gotten hardly no less than 8-10 yards a pop. So what do they do? Instead of keep beating him the ball down after down... they mixed it up! So they could still come back to thomas and it would work again!

If they try giving it to thomas- and that doesn't work (for the first time) then they HAVE to try something else! making them very predictable

Yes. Also, Friday night during the KU/Southern Miss game, the Golden Eagles ran a SWEET version of the Time Tebow jump pass. THey were at the 3ish yardline of KU and they handed to the RB who rushed to the LOS like he was running and then he stopped, jumped and through a pass to a TE for a TD. It was awesome.

Exactly. You have a lot more freedom to try other stuff when you can give up 5 on a failed play on 1st and 10 or 2nd and 2 and be reasonably confident that you can still pick up the 1st down on a conventional play.

When things are not working as smoothly you really have to think twice about calling a risky play because you don't want to get too far off schedule.

Correct.

However, why could K-State not continue to throw the ball? I mean, after the pick 6, they rarely went to the air again. Damn Wildcats spoiling our fun...

Great play calling such as the fake field goal? And also trying to pass when Thomas was racking up yards no sweat? I think if Snyder wouldn't have had his moments of senility, we would have lost by a lot more. Just my opinion though.

Quite true. And I called the fake FG, my brother would not believe me they were gonna fake it. I'm glad our guys were ready and the execution by K-State was poor. Would have been game over early had they converted that.
