Hey guys this is my first time on the board and i would just like to say a few things about Shontrelle. First off as a person.. I have a psych class with him and talk to him frequently during class and he is one of the most outgoing football players i have ever met. He talks to everyone in the class and it seems like he is always having a good time. It seems like he loves it up here in Ames. Second of all i would like to discuss a couple things about him as a football player. This guy is one of the most explosive players i have seen in Ames in a long time. During those kick off returns at Iowa he showed some solid moves in the open field. Whenever i talk to him i ask him if he is going to break off a big run this week and every time he laughs and says if CPR gives me the chance! I know everyone is talking about getting Woody more playing time in the backfield but why not Shontrelle also? Don't get me wrong Woody had some very nice carries last weekend against K-State. Does anyone agree with me about Shontrelle? I think this kid is going to be something special and i would hate to see him "waste" an entire season of his eligibility by just running back kicks!
He seems like a great guy but his kick returns weren't that great against KSU. I think he needs to be more consistent before i would move him ahead of woody.
Yes I agree 100%! He was the best recruit to come out of last year's class and one of the best recruits we have grabbed in a long time! I am looking foward to next year of seeing Rabbit slashing the opponents D while J Wood bruises his way through the D.
I think since johnson and a-rob are fairly similar runners, i think the mentality is it's hard to justify putting him in over a-rob; woody runs the ball completely differently

Production means everything
year to date stats tell the story
ARob YPC 4.6
Woody YPC 6.6
S Johnson YPC 2.2
Just my opinion but he dances a little too much. I do think he will be very good in the future but he needs to get to the hole quicker.

True but Rabbit is a little bigger. He seems to have a little bit more upper body strength too!

I agree he does need to hit the hole quicker. But you also have to take into account that he only has rushed the ball four times the whole season and all of those carries came against Iowa.
Something for you to think about and ask shontrelle next time you talk to him is this, ask him what his graded score is. You see, after each game, all the players get graded on their performance. Not just in their position, but in everything they do throughout the game. It is a total score. Up to 100. this is compared to his peers. As he learns what he is to do, his score(s) will improve. Something I have noticed about him is that when he goes through a hole and is hit, he kinda has a tendency to curl up and stop pumping his legs. If he can get in the open, he is going to be a terror! But he has to keep plugging while in the trenches.

This was my favorite part, "I have a psych class with him" and then "This guy is one of the most explosive players i have seen in Ames in a long time."
