Outside the men's room: Nod to Arnaud

Re: Outside the men's room: Nod to Arnaud
I like the comparison of AA to DG. They both can do a lot of things right, but for some reason they just can't seem to do the easy things to help their teams win. AA can't throw the ball down field and DG can't make a layup under pressure.

Re: Outside the men's room: Nod to Arnaud
This article makes it seem like this is the only mistake that arnaud has made...Kansas game last year he overthrew the receiver for the touchdown pass that could of won us the game. Ya he compares DG and AA who have 1 thing in common...disappointment. They screw the easiest things up, Austin has missed several throws in his career during crucial moments of the game. DG has missed crucial free throws at the end of a lot of games that could of helped us win. Yes as fans we are upset over the losses but when the losses could of been changed by one play for these 2 people then we have a right to be upset with them.

I agree, and I think a lot of the disappointment that surrounds these guys is a result of exaggerated expectations by the kool aid drinkers. Neither of these guys has done anything to lead you to belive they can carry a team yet preseason around here was full of threads about AA being great and comparing him to another in state QB who he doesn' even belong in the same sentence as, or abotu where he stacked up against the other QB's in the conference. I expect the same hyped up unrealistic expectations for DG in the next couple of months.

Re: Outside the men's room: Nod to Arnaud
Bret and AA both had better seasons as sophs than junior/senior seasons. Please explain that.
JT seems to make fewer mental mistakes for fewer yards.
JT had efficiency of 97 last year (he has thrown only one pass this year) while AA has 100 pass efficiency rating this year. So there is not much diff so far this year.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Re: Outside the men's room: Nod to Arnaud
The plain and simple fact is that Arnaud is NOT playing well enough for ISU to win. Its like Deace always says, you cant hide your Qb in college football.
Is the rest of the team playing well enough? Absolutely not.
But Arnaud is the Qb and therefore is going to get most of the blame. Thats how it works. Thats life. Just like a CEO or even a manager taking the blame for a company or team's shortcomings.
When Arnaud starts playing well enough, we can start pointing fingers at everyone else.

I would enjoy some examples.

Look at the teams they played those years. Thats the most frustrating thing about the development of those last 2 guys. You'd think it would work out perfect to have a lighter schedule when you've got a new QB starting and then when they had a couple of years under their belt that they'd develop into a guy who can help us compete with the tougher teams we play, but that hasn't happened with either guy.

They are the ones that blow also. AA played a hell of a game against Kansas, he kept us in it the whole time. Our defense however like always was dissapointing. They gave up what? like 35 or 42 points that game... To win that cant happen.

Re: Outside the men's room: Nod to Arnaud
I'm sorry, nice attempt at trying but this article totally misses. AA detractors blaming everything on one pass? Seriously? Have most of us not shown tons of facts and QB rankings and lack of production over 15 games? But you are more then willing to look at the limited time that Tiller was given last year and come up with the opinion that he will not get any better. So why the confidence in AA when he has shown very little also. Maybe it is Capello time!!! I'm not the coaching staff, but it will be hard to continue to watch this at QB for very much longer.

Re: Outside the men's room: Nod to Arnaud
Last play of the third quarter, third and eight near midfield? Arnaud rushes for nine tough yards for a first down. Two fourth downs with one yard needed in the middle of the fourth quarter? Arnaud rushes for the first downs. Fourth down with eight yards to go during the two-minute drill deep in ISU territory? Completion for 23 yards and a first down.
This is the part everyone seems to forget. Much like Brett Favre and the Vikings last year, we wouldn't be in that situation without him in the first place.

Last year he also threw a clutch touchdown pass in the K State game for a chance to tie, and we missed the extra point.
