Well yeah, look at the teams on the list and on the waiting list. Most of those teams are playing more than terrible right now. We lost to a top 25 team and lost a close one to a team slightly better than us. Nothing real embarassing about that.

No kidding the team that CU beat, CSU, is on the list and the team that beat CU, Cal, is on the least yet CU is absent. Yes something definitely smells.

He saves the #5 spot for BCS conference schools that lost to mid majors/FCS teams.

He seems to put a lot of weight on the fact that their defense didn't show up against Nevada.

As for ISU, well, while you guys are 1-2, I don't know if you're one of the worse 1-2 teams out there. One loss was to a then top 10 ranked team and the other was a close loss to a KSU team that some experts have picked to do okay in-conference.

More losses, and more specifically, any blowouts and you might see ISU showing up on that list.

    EDIT:
It's interesting that if "mascot fights" and "blown pass coverage" could make the list, "Big Ten special teams" didn't.

#5 is always saved for the BCS conference team who was the biggest surprise at how bad they played the previous week. For example, if Iowa would have lost 42-0 on Saturday, they would have been a lock for the #5 spot.

I hope to God that we're not #5 next week.

I think the clones are one of the better 1-2 teams...still think a bowl is possible.

Some people may look at this list and see 10 god-awful football teams. I look at this list and see future non-conference opponents for ISU! Seriously, Western Kentucky has lost 24 in a row! Eastern Michigan has dropped 15 in a row and just went down to Central Michigan 52-14! We are a program in need of a serious slump buster or two, and the schools on this list will fit the bill perfectly!

I took this to be a swipe at Iowa -

Hmmm....could be, though personally, the missed PAT didn't end up hurting as much as the other special teams **** ups. The missed PAT actually ended up hurting ASU, against Wisconsin.

Western KY is on the schedule for 2012 - our luck they'll be good by then.
