Someone likes how KO is playing

According to the Big 12 blog, Kelechi Osemele has moved up to the #5 ranking amongst offensive tackles on Mel Kiper's board. Based on past drafts, that would put him in the second round. That would be as high of an ISU draft pick as I can remember.

IMO he looks good in stretches. The screen pass was horrible and his holding calls KILLED US. Although I think he got screwed on one. I thought he looked good in the first half.

#5 among underclassmen offensive tackles. Doesn't include any seniors.

And Kiper apparently hasn't seen him play this year.

FWIW, Kiper reviewed the KO-Clayborn match-up.
KO, like the entire offense, has been effected by the departure of Stephens and Haughton. Hard to replace two NFL quality Olinemen.

Watch the first half of the game. He was about as dominant as it gets. He was just fine. The right side of our line is the weak point. There was nothing wrong with how KO played as a whole.

He was bad in the Iowa game mainly because of a lot of stunting we were not ready for. Oh, and he was expected to single handidly stop the best Dend in college football. Chack the stats, he did as well as I could expect there after watching again.

Bingo. Now KO is sent out on an island and has to take careof an end with no help. Losing Haughton was HUGE.

For as much **** as he takes, he is more right than wrong in the end. He can only judge off of what they have done. He can't tell if someone is going to slack off or become worthless. When he looks at a guy he looks at a body of work. There are so many variables in the transition that he can't calculate or even guess as to whats going to happen.

I think that Kiper list including the underclassmen is ranking the positions overall with Seniors and draft eligible underclassmen. Therefore, KO would be his 5th overall tackle. I'm not 100% sure on this though.

I normally think Kiper is fool proof when it comes to this stuff, but 2 things raise red flags for me this year. The first is Jake Locker. I was never impressed with Jake Locker as a player (great guy and great measurables), and that was before he looked like a Jr High QB against Nebraska. I just don't get the love for Locker. The second red flag is Kiper has Niles Paul as his #1 Sr WR (obviously Julio Jones and AJ Green are Jrs and are ahead of him overall). That is not a misprint. I love my Huskers, but there is no way Niles Paul is the top Sr WR. He is an amazing athlete, and has the build of a college outside linebacker, but the dude is not that great of a WR.

Not sure what you were seeing. He made mistakes but physically he dominated. He's as good as a lineman as I have seen at ISU in a long time.

Who has Niles Paul ever had to throw the ball to him? And if he isn't #1, than who is? I'm not saying your wrong. Just hard to think of better players for the NFL

I think, for Locker, you have to take into account what he is surrounded by. He has the arm and it seems like he has the head to be good.

If he goes to the NFL all of the DE will be as good or better than Clayborn so he better figure out how to deal with it if he expects do play in the Bigs.
