What positions would you like to see recruited?
1. Obviously the DL. Our defensive line play is pretty terrible. I can tell most of the guys are giving 100%, but they just don't have the talent to compete at the D1 level. A few younger guys playing at the DL looked like they might have the ability to grow into better players though. Still might need at least 1 or 2 JUCO's along with some HS recruits.
2. Linebackers: We need DEPTH. I have been very impressed with our linebacker play the last couple games so far though.
3. Quarterback: We need a quarterback that can run this system end of story.
4. WR: It doesn't seem like we have enough speed at this position to run a spread offense.
Players recruited so far in the position:
1.David Irving - Yahoo! Sports Devin Lemke - Yahoo! Sports
2.Kyle Boyd - Yahoo! Sports Jevohn Miller - Yahoo! Sports
3.Sam Richardson - Yahoo! Sports
4.Teddy Lampkin - Yahoo! Sports Tad Ecby - Yahoo! Sports -

I don't think you need to recruit the QB position HEAVILY. You can only play one. Pick out 1 or 2 a year and go get them. Even if all the prospects are athletic enough to play WR or DB, all you'll end up with is a bunch of transfers.
Every year (for the immediate future), I'd like to see at least 5 OL and 5 DL in the signing class.

Offensive coordinator.
Somebody was going to say it eventually.

We get better linemen and the quarterback problem won't look nearly as bad.

Re: What positions would you like to see recruited?
Hopefully all positions... Recruiting is cyclical... especially if we can upgrade at any positions

QB......... end of discussion.

Re: What positions would you like to see recruited?
The answer is that you do not recruit for any particular year whether it be next year, the year after, or 4 years down the road. The same strategy applies to positions - you need to plan for all of them. Every consistently successful program strives for balance and a class that comes close to bringing in a recruit for each of the 22 starting positions on the field. Maybe occasionally add or short one guy per position, but nothing too drastic or you will be creating new issues down the road. The bottom line is that the objective should be to recruit over the existing players at every position.

Re: What positions would you like to see recruited?
EVERYTHING. The one position group I am most comfortable with now and in the future is RB. Obviously need better QB play, continue to improve playmaking ability with WR corps, and continue to have solid TE play. OL needs to improve.
Defensively, obviously in dire need of pass rushers at DE and try to find another Tuba Rubin inside. LB, yes we need to improve depth, but Knott/Klein both just sophs, Taufoo has another year, then between George and the other freshman redshirting I feel okay. At DB, we are losing O'Connell, Sandvig, and Sims after this year, then Benton and LJ next year, so I think this is a pretty big concern losing that much experience. Aside from Reeves, we have no other proven players in the pipeline.
K I have been really impressed with Mahoney so far this season, and he only has one more year. To this point Guyer has not done anything, and I might be wrong but I think he still has a redshirt to use to possibly separate him and Mahoney. Vander Kamp I'm sure will improve and has plenty of time to do so.
I would prioritize the positions of need:
1. DL
2. QB
3. DB
4. OL
5. LB
6. WR
7. TE
8. K
9. RB
10. P

Re: What positions would you like to see recruited?
I would recruit the following.
1. DL
2. DL
3. LB, I nearly cried when I thought AJ Klein went down. We have no depth.
4. OL, Hayworth Hicks did a real good job of following ARob several times while blocking no one. But at least he didn't do something stupid like an illegal block in the back as he followed the play.
5. DL
6. DB
I think our DL is improving. Rump especially. But we still need to be more of a force up front. That is where it all starts.

Re: What positions would you like to see recruited?
I'm going to go with everybody. I'm tired of focusing on one position , and as a result, a few years later the that's biggest strength becoming it's biggest weakness because we decided we didn't NEED to focus on it.
