Football appreciation for dummies
I love football but I never played (I was forbidden from playing by the village elders because they feared I would have been just too awesome which would have destroyed the self-esteem of all the other kids I played with and against, which they feared would have sent a chain-reaction throughout the entire football world and would have eventually but most certainly led to the dissolution of all sports worldwide. I'll explain in more detail on another thread someday....), so I'm kind of stunted in my football comprehension, because I have no hands-on knowledge of the game. So can some of you people help me with this kind of vague question?
Looking at UNI and ISU's game stats, they are very similar except in two categories: turnovers and time of possession. (ISU had the ball something like 10 minutes less than UNI). Does this mean that ISU didn't dominate the game as much as UNI blew it at the wrong times? Don't get me wrong, I was thrilled watching this game, and I know a win is a win, but I understand that there are certain ways coaches prefer to win, and am not sure if this is ideal. I'm just curious.

Seriously???? I'm sure the coaches would love a 45-0 game. But our offense is not built for that right now. We don't have the horses. The defense has to carry us if we want to win.
Is that hard to comprehend??

Without looking at the stats, purely on memory, I would guess the time of possession had something to do with the two pick 6s that immediately returned the ball to UNI.

The coaches will take this win. They lost the last time.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

I'm just curious. ISU certainly didn't dominate, but the defense did a darn good job on their end. They held up UNI's running attack enough to make them pass more than I think they wanted to. If the defense gave that kind of effort, and the offense was clicking at all, this would have been 51-0.

Is that hard to comprehend?? No, it's not hard to comprehend if someone explains it to me. Which is what you are doing. And I appreciate your insight. Thank you.

3 plays decided this game. The two Ints returned for TDs and the blocked FG. Other than that, it was a draw.
I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU
Or so I have read. -
