Here is a news flash. THAT HAPPENS! It happens to every QB in every game! I see quite a few QB's do that every weekend in college football. Heck, last night I saw two NFL QB's do it in an NFL game.
Arnaud will most likely go down as having the highest completion % of any ISU QB. As sad as it is, it is reality. He isn't as bad as some think.
I can put up post after post about penalties in scoring position. No one cares. No one cares that before saturday, we scored TDs 100% of the time we were in the red zone and had no penalties. 100% of the time. In the first three games we only scored a tD once when we had a penalty in scoring position. Do you see the difference.

And you want to blame one player. Hit up KO. Arnaud has overthrown one person for a TD this year. KO has 5 FREAKING PENALTIES in scoring position. He has cost us more points than Arnaud. HE is a NFL prospect and has as much experience as anyone on the team.

Other people want to blame the coaching staff for bad play calling. Perhaps coaching is part of the problem, but how are they supposed to open the playbook when the players have shown incapable of running what they already have? And it's FAR too soon to begin ripping this staff for bad recruiting the vast majority of the players playing right now are McCarney's or Chizik's. Rhoads only has one full recruiting class to his credit - not nearly enougj time to judge, nor nearly enough time to have enough time to have the players in place to fully implement the desired system. Perhaps Herrman is a bum - but it's impossible to judge that when he can't call the plays he wants to when our offense is incapable of running even the most basic plays.

Still others ask what's wrong with the running game. Well, how is the offense supposed to effectively run the ball when the defense can stack the box and dare us to beat them by throwing, something so far we've shown to be incapable to doing?

See, here's the thing - we got spoiled last year with the 7-6 record and bowl win. It gave us the impression that we're further along as a program than we really are. Our problems on offense are much deeper than one individual, yet certain people want to take the chicken **** way out and blame everything on just one player, whether the QB or the coach. Our issues are much deeper than just one player - it's the ENTIRE offense, and those issues won't be fixed by trying a different QB every week.

Shhhhhhhh. How dare you suggest that the coaches are part of the problem if not THE problem. Just because every single unit on the offense struggles doesn't mean it is coaching. It means it is the QB

He had a great offensive line last year and still played poorly. When was the last time we won a game because arnaud threw for 300 yards and 3 TDs? This is a spread offense... so if herman had it his way, arnaud would throw for 500 yards and 5 TDs, so asking for 3 and 3 isn't that lofty.
AA made some difficult passes his sophomore year. I saw him make some NFL type passes. His decision making wasn't the greatest but he was usually playing from behind and forcing things a little. We have not seen him make the passes in his Jr and Sr year that we saw in his Soph year.
I will also add that he has had three different staffs that have all messed with his throwing mechanics. That is huge. I will not use the three different systems as an excuse. Quite honestly, he should know the system by now and judging by his improved accuracy this year, he does. The change in throwing mechanics is a big one though. QBs do that and they still revert back under pressure 5 years later.
Either way, he misses some throws and makes some stupid decisions. Thing is it isn't as bad as some on here believe. Doesn't matter...he gives us the best chance to win every saturday.

    Here is the difference:

Tiller - 3 games with major playing time. No turnovers in his past 3 games playing.
Arnaud - Senior QB. 10(?) turnovers in his last 3 games.

Tiller isn't lighting the world on fire but he limits mistakes. I'd rather have a guy who is missing receivers who doesn't turn the ball over instead of a guy who is missing receivers who is turning the ball over 3 times per game.

Name one turnover that AA has made this year that cost us a game or even hurt us.

Besides the fumble against KSU, where he was hit from behind and stripped, I doubt you can name one. As a matter of fact, I know you can't name one. BTW- KSU rushed three defenders on that play and got to AA from the back side in a hurry. That fumble is on Burris.

I would normally agree with you but with our defense, we are not going to be able to play the "take care of the ball and play field position" type of game in the big 12.

    Wrong.

Once again, someone has clearly blocked the Texas A&M game out from last year, where the two interceptions Tiller threw were just the beginning of the problems he exhibited that game. But I guess all is forgotten when he "didn't lose" the Nebraska game for us...

    Re: I stand corrected

Hey, we won the game. Let's be happy that we shut out an opponet and set ourselves up nicely for the next game. Winning breeds confidence. I know it was UNI....but a win is a win. It was a nice crowd for a horrible weather day. Our guys just need to become more mentally focused for the BIG 12 season. It was Tiller's first go-round in a while too. I liked the fact that he didn't have any turnovers. He also had a big play over the middle to Sed for a nice first down in a critical moment. I like plays like that from a QB. It showed that he has poise at times. Again, not the greatest performance....but the by limiting TO's, it helped our D out as well....ISU went on to win in a dominating fashion. Which is what I hope most of our fanbase was expecting.

I also hope that AA took note on this game as well, because I feel that he will still be a major player for us this season. He just needs to stop missing open receivers and limit the TO's. It should have been a wake up call to him. So I hope, if he does again see some significant time on the field....that he needs to just play and not turn the ball over.

The Tech game means everything for the season right now. This would be a great upset win at JTS and could really build the confidence for this team. The D needs to play excellent for us to win..we need to take chances and blitz their QB early and get in his head......and the O CANNOT turn the ball over at all, plus if we are in scoring position again....the O line can't have penalties..... Herman really needs to dial up a nice called game for us to win. If we can play sound football, and win against a team like Tech.... our guys will get some swagger again.

Question though: Is Tiller starting for the Tech game?

JT was lucky he did not have inceptions. Eratic decisions that did not look safe.
JT did not run as much as I expected, CPR likely does not have a back up if
    JT gets hurt.
Overall he did rate a C+ and will likely get better.
If JT was about to have inceptions, I hope we had Leo D handy to use his spinny top thing.

You did see Tiller miss open receivers all day right? And you do know that UNI is has the 79th ranked FCS pass defense. It was ranked WORSE before they played us. We helped their ranking.

I am sorry but the term "dominated" should not be used for this game. Our defense played real well. Our offense did not come close to dominating. They didn't even come close to playing well.

And the only thing AA can learn from that game is to not turn the ball over. Thing is, he already knows that.

It is true that most people forget about the game @ Texas A&M. But you know what? I would love to see most freshman QBs in the country play in back to back tough ROAD atmospheres like Nebby and A&M and come away with at least 1 W. (Oh, and those were his two first starts EVER.)

AA's missed throw against K-State to a wide open AROB was just the icing on HIS cake for miscue's that he has had. Which made it easy for the coaching staff to get Tiller ready to play against UNI. The 0 turnovers from him was a nice touch too.....by not playing significant minutes in a long time.

Selective memory from a lot of people and the aTm game wasn't on TV so it doesn't actually count. I am sure most think that AA played that game and threw the two INTs

You know AA was hurt right? CPR stated on the post game that AA was the starter and would have played but he reinjured his shoulder. He wasn't benched.

Yes I knew that. But during the week, did the coach not say that JT was going to get snaps? That means he got in more time in practice with the 1st unit....which helped him out in the UNI game.
