Re: Playing K-State in the future

Let's look at potential wins and losses. Over a ten year time frame if we played 5 games at K-State and 5 games in Ames compared to 10 games at Arrowhead; I am convinced we would walk away with more wins playing 5 games in Ames and 5 games at K-State. Call it past performance; call it a hunch; whatever. I love going down to K.C. and partying in the P&L District with Cyclone fans the night before the game but I would still rather have 5 games in Ames over a 10 year period.

We'd better schedule two home games each year we play Iowa on the road for sure, so that we at least have 6 home games.
The way the schedule is going to work out is ISU will play 6 home games in odd numbered years (4 conference home games and 2 non-conference home games with Iowa being one of those); and 7 home games in even numbered years (5 conference home games and 2 non-conference home games).

Our attendance in KC over Thanksgiving would be pathetic. That's way too far of a drive for a "neutral" site for ISU fans at the holidays.

I'm ok with the full time Arrowhead thing, just not over Thanksgiving.

I think a lot of our fans are a bunch of pansies, JMO. Go to the game if you are close and quit whining. I'd give anything to be able to go to all of the ISU home games this season even if it meant each game was -20F and there was a 30 MPH wind and 4 feet of snow.

IT'S FOOTBALL. It only comes around a few times in the fall.
I would go if it were part of the season ticket package. If you expect me to pay more for a game that should be home every other year you are absolutely smoking crack. Frankly if this happens it is pure garbage and a huge competitive disadvantage for us.

The KU/MU game isn't part of the season ticket package for KU and I'm pretty sure it isn't for MU. It is sold as a totally separate game. I think the one neutral game for everybody in the league is a good idea and balances the schedule. Yes every team is going to start making the noncon schedule easier. That's just going to happen to keep some games at home.

Final week of the season should be:

    Texas - Texas A&M
    Oklahoma - Oklahoma State
    Mizzou - Kansas
    Texas Tech - Baylor
    Iowa State - Kansas State.

I like that final week of the season, but I would only like to play Thanksgiving weekend in Ames, not KC. But I do like the general idea of every team playing a neutral game to balance schedules (and make $$$)

Also, what do the K-State fans on here think? I haven't seen any responses?

Re: Playing K-State in the future

I think attendance has less to do with potential weather that weekend and more to do wit hthe Holiday/family. For this reason, attendance would be even worse in KC, imo.

Re: Playing K-State in the future

Love a rivalry but not at the expense of the losing a home game! Love JP most the time I agree ,but struggling with this idea! Alot of fans are familys and it gets expensive to travel all the time ! We took all of our boys this year and we had a blast ,but not sure we could do this on regular basis. Then when we go to a bowl it would be even harder to dig the $$$ up.I need more information on this...
