FYI, Fox College Sports is nothing more than programming that is found on all of the regional FSN's. The only time DirecTV even has the feed for Fox College Sports turned on is for a live game event that.
I discovered last night that Fox & Dish Network are locked in a retrans battle and it's possible that channels like FX, FS Midwest, FS North, could be off of Dish Network on October 1. Given that Dish Network is very stingy retrans disputes and if their past is any indication, I wouldn't be surprised to see this happen, if even for a short period of time.
I subscribe to Dish because DirecTV jerked me around so much I couldn't stand it anymore. I lost my reception a had to wait 10 days to get it fixed. They came out and "fixed" it which lasted 24 hours. They were to come back the next day but didn't show. Then agreed to show up first thing the next morning and didn't show again. Meanwhile I waited on hold for 1/2 hour waiting for someone to help me.
You have to go to a national voice directed phone system which is horrible.
Dish gave me a local number to call if I have any service needs. Perfect, that's what I want.
It isn't bad for ISU. You get Versus but don't get FCS so it is a wash. Here in our area in NW iowa, direct TV doesn't offer local channels and the local reception used to be crapola. hence the reason I have Dish.
I'd like to hear your thoughts as well on this. I've had DirecTV, Mediacom and Dish Network over the past five years (in two different houses) and I've been most satisfied with Dish Network. It would take a pretty darn good offer from someone else to get me to even consider switching.
