Anybody hear this story?

I guess the will call window got a surprise visitor last Saturday night. Supposedly the parents of Rob Bolden, the freshman QB from Penn State, showed up to pick up their tickets only to find there were none waiting for them. They came all the way to Iowa to watch their son play, but whether they got Iowa State and Iowa confused or didn't realize Iowa had two major universities, or whatever it was, they wound up in Ames looking for tickets.

Given that our game kicked off an hour before Iowa's, I imagine they made it to Iowa City without missing too much of their game. Hilarious story though.

I'm calling BS. It doesn't seem a bit ridiculous that they got ALL the way to the box office before seeing cardinal and gold Iowa State Cyclone stuff everywhere?

I can't verify that it's true, I'm just reporting what I'm told. But if you're so clueless/oblivious that you get the schools/cities mixed up in the first place, then yeah, I can believe seeing cardinal and cold wouldn't have tipped them off.

I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have picked up that the game would be in Iowa City. But at the same time, I've met plenty of people here in Minnesota who think the University of Iowa is in Ames, and that the school in Iowa City is called Iowa State.

Also, Rob Bolden was offered a scholarship by the Hawkeyes. However, he didn't actually visit, so...

IF this is true... In some small way I bet they would have preferred to see the game that took place in Ames.

Given that he's a freshman, it's a distinct possibility that they wouldn't have known that they should have been seeing Black and Gold.

Seroiusly though... that takes talent to show up in the wrong city at the wrong university

I doubt the story is true, but if it is, all I can say is wouldn't you do the tiniest bit of research before any vacation? If I want to see the Washington Monument, am I going to Boston because I'm pretty sure it's there? The internet is a great resource.
