That would be weird...
Sure, why not. He would be a nice safe choice for them. Probably give them some stability that they obviously need. Most likely is crap rumor, but I would totally dismiss it.
I don't think that would happen.
Why would you say, "probably not true"?
I think that guy is still a little butthurt about the whole Chizik/Kelly thing.
They just spent a gazillion dollars for a new stadium. Why go cheap and hire a D-line coach? Why make hire a coach who has a terrible overall winning percentage? Doesn't make sense.
And if we didn't hire Chizik, would you have loved a Glen Mason hire?
That's why.
Its really hard to 'sell hope' on someone with the record DMac has. We all know why he has that record and he's better than it would indicate, but its a tough sell. It might be an easier sell if he was a coordinator and not a d-line coach.
That said, id love to see him get another shot somewhere, he deserves it.
Minnesota is already at the point where they make bowl games. You don't hire an Architect as your CEO.
Minnesota sure ain't making a bowl game this year...
I'd love to see it. And if it did happen, this would be a case where I'd be ok with alternating Iowa every two years if we could fill it with Minnesota.
That being said, it probably won't happen. While I think DMac can get a job elsewhere, it's not going to start at a Big Ten school. He'll have to start at a smaller school first.
Iowa fans would die if this happened.
Minnesota got rid of Mason because they were tired of winning 6-7 games and making it to a lower-tier bowl game. Unfortunately, Brewster seems to have taken his team in the wrong direction.
Right now, anybody who could coach the Goofs to consecutive 6-7 win seasons would be taken.
I hope he gets it, but I too am skeptical.
56 - 85
27 - 68
The fans of Minnesota should burn the stadium down if the administration hire anyone with that record.
