The defense won those games. He didnt win them.

The defense, running game, and oline will all be a strength next season and I like how the schedule played out, minus the trip to UConn.
Well, he had two TD runs against Baylor and was 7-8 passing in the second half. I would say he did his part to win that game, wouldn't you?
Or do you actually think that either the QB wins the game or the defense? Tiller was QB for 2 Big 12 wins, regardless who you personally give the credit to. But no, I'm sure your right, playing QB in Big 12 victories as a freshman means nothing if the defense also played well.
To me its either Barnett or nothing. We have all seen Tiller play, he isnt that special. Capello would get rocked in the Big 12. And if Barnett isnt anything, its going to be a longggg few years of cyclone football.
I'm in between on this one. Mac moved Flynn to WR, before Myers took a meaningful snap. It looked like a good move at the time, but Myers digressed as a QB as years went by!
Tiller could by the next Chris Love on our team, a four year back up.
I get a kick out of this thread. Instead of backup QB syndrome, our fans are all in love with the 3rd and 4th string QBs.... basically anyone who hasn't played a game. The sophomore 2nd stringer, who has started in Big 12 wins, is an afterthought.
Hey, I also hope Barnett comes in, beats out everyone as RSFR, kicks butt, and is an All-Big 12 QB. Or Capello as a sophomore. I just think its crazy to write off the QB who is currently in front of all of them on the depth chart before any of the players who are behind him on the depth chart take a single meaningful snap.
Sorry buddy, your wrong on that one. Flynn and Myers were both QBs who split series during Myers Freshman and Flynn's Sophomore year. Flynn even led the comeback against Northern Illinois. It was after the season (when Meyer had played for a year and in the coaches opinion beaten Austin out on the field) that Flynn was moved to WR.
It is pure speculation. One of the Utah fans posted on here how Utah has a couple kids that were recruited at QB that now play LB. A lot of times, QB are just great athletes. IF Tiller were to get beat out, I said IF, would he better serve the team as a WR? Who knows? Maybe the kid can't catch a ball. We know he has the athletic ability to do it though. it isn't like he couldn't be the back up QB as well. Meier at KU did this very well and is the best example. It hink when you are ISU, you have to be creative with the talent oon the team in order to have success.
Again, I said IF.
Since everyone else is giving their opinion based on very little information, I guess I'll go ahead too.
Tiller - has the speed, athleticism and a huge arm. I actually think he might be a little more accurate than AA, in game situations. Has better physical tools to run the read option, but I don't know about decision making?
Capello - have heard he is the most accurate, and judging by high school film, he does look accurate. Not a lot of strength in his arm, so would have to offset that with quick decisions. Seems capable of running the read option, but doesn't have great size to take a pounding week in and week out in the Big XII.
Barnett - seems to have a better mixture of Tiller and Capello. Doesn't look as elusive as Seneca Wallace, like a lot on here think. Seems pretty accurate with a strong arm. Comes from a spread offense high school, in Texas, which says a lot to me. Didn't like some of his decision making in his highlight video. He tends to just throw the ball up in the air after being flushed out of the pocket or narrowly escaping a sack.
Richardson - I have to admit, I have a man-crush on this kid. I think he is the Sam Bradford we barely missed out on 4-5 years ago. He would be my pick if he wasn't a true frosh next year.
It will be very interesting to see what the staff does here. I can't imagine the staff giving 3 QB's an opportunity early next season. I think they give the start to Tiller with either Capello or Barnett seeing a lot of time early.
Tiller will never be any good at QB. At least not in a throwing offense. I said it. That offense we saw against UNI was the same old bogged down version we saw vs Nebraska. Oh, except UNI didn't have Suh, Crick, Turner, Akumura and Asante. I applaud the kid for working hard, but he's not any better than he was a year ago. He's definitely waited his turn, so I don't expect him to stick around if he's second string or asked to switch positions. Don't blame him at all for whatever decision he makes, but one thing that I am fairly certain of is that he is not going to be ISU's starting QB next year.
