Key to the game today
Do NOT let OU score quick. If they get up 21-0 this game is over. Doesnt matter if its even in the 1st quarter. I dont know how we are going to do it, but our offense has to stay on the field at least 4-5(more would be great, unless we score quick) minutes each drive. Stopping big plays would go under all of this too. On our side, were going to have to make big plays. Heres to hopefully us giving them a run for their money!

ISU needs to control time of possession. OU defense is not that good, their offense is.

Re: Key to the game today
If we get down 14-0 were toast. The defense will give up. They're young in the linebackers, and they play it sometimes and it shows when they get rattled.

This is key. Our offensive line has the ability to control the line of scrimmage. We don't need big plays but we need to milk the clock and and be able to run the ball. Keep an already beat up defense off the field as much as possible.
We need to avoid getting in third and long situations. Positive yards on first and second downs and limiting the penalties are a must if we want any chance. Take a shot down field when its there and maybe a few turnovers for the D would be nice.

If the OU players dress up in our uniforms.. and our players in their uniforms... then we'd have a fighting chance!

Run the ball, control the clock, let the defense rest. That's our key today. Grind this sucker out, maybe a convenient bold play or two, but mostly just grind this sucker out.

I feel like this is what we've needed to do all season, but our players have had a tough time executing it, and many times our play calling hasn't supported it.
Basically, we have to do one or the other. Grind it out, or go for the shootout. Against TTU, we went shootout, and got it. The problem is, we haven't been able to consistently do either. And we run into the biggest problems when our offense is ineffective early (meaning 3 & out with NO first downs), and we then get behind early when our defense can't stop anybody.
Our defense gives up LOTS of yards, but can be opportunistic. We do a decent job at getting a turnover or two a game, and if our offense can be somewhat consistent and get first downs (read: not always score, but first downs), then those turnovers can mean a lot more, and we grind out games.

Don't turn the ball over!

Re: Key to the game today
Keys to this game:
1. Score more points than OU. Self explanatory.
2. Turnovers. This is more of stopping the other team from scoring and giving us additional chances to do so. If we can get a pick-6, even better.
3. 3rd down conversions. Did we even get a single one against Utah? Not that I remember.

Score more points than OU? I could give a flying fleep how we do it. It could be 56-55 with 10 turnovers or 3-2 where no team gains a first down. I just wanna see the upset of the decade! Too much to ask for? Don't answer that.
