They come and go. I think that round will probably come soon, and tonight will bring plenty out of the woodwork.

Nice scramble by Tiller there. He kept something alive, but Darks got destroyed

    Re: Again, I ask...

If a coach can come in and within the first few years win the games that he is supposed too, and get an upset or two each season then you can't say that he is doing much wrong. Have to remember that he is likely working with the talent (or lack thereof) of the coach(es) that preceded him...

Now if 2012 comes along and we are still looking at barely squeaking by at 6 win seasons or worse then you start wondering if he can do any better... I think most realistic people will say that we get 6 wins this season then it is a success!

It all comes down to the o and d line. If we can build a strong line then we will be fine.

I think he is a great coach and will only get better. He loves Iowa state and wants to be the cyclones coach. Things will come around for him once he gets a few years and more of his players.

    Re: Again, I ask...

I give Rhoads the benefit of the doubt as long as we win the games we are supposed to his first few years. The fact is that we are outgunned by the top level teams this year.

We know that Rhoads can coach a good game. What we don't know yet is whether he can recruit, and, more importantly for a place like Ames, develop his players. Until we find out otherwise he has my complete backing. He is a great coach for the season, and in a year or two we'll know if he's also somebody that can make ISU go in the offseason.

I'm embarrassed for ISU football tonight, but not for any individual players or coaches. Our guys are doing what they can, they are just outgunned.

Your wrong, the is no one now saying he should be fired and there will not be a section of the fire base calling for him to be fired at the end of the season.

Worst thing the guy did for idiots in this fan base, was beat NU last year and win a bowl game. For the vocal fringe, it was no where but up from there. Let's not forget how many games we won 2 years ago, with a guy who personally, I still don't think is as good of a game coach as CPR, who is now at Auburn. It's a building process. It will be a learning process as well. We have the right guy on the job.

This is the kind of stuff I'm getting at. Loving ISU and wanting to be the coach hardly makes one a good coach. I love ISU and want to be the coach but it doesn't make me a better coach than Gene Chizik--someone who does neither.

We had better hope CPR has a Ferentz-ian ability to develop players because all these wonderful recruits you guys are talking about are almost literally players no one else wants.

Jesus couldn't coach the talent on this team and win. We are thin at every position. The offense is a disaster. The defense has to play tired every week, because we can't get a first down. If this is the same story in three years, worry about it. ****** it is his second season. This is why this message board is just f**king stupid most of the time.

Let me make it clear--I do not want him fired. I want nothing of the sort. A lot of our fans seem to think he's proven to be a good coach. I can't say I agree. The jury is still very out.
