Watching teams like Utah today and the Washington/Oregon State game, I wonder if ISU has ever had a pipeline to recruit Samoan players. There is talent coming from there year in and year out and if our D-Line is really our weakness, it wouldn't hurt to put a 320 lb run clogger back there...You can't teach size and athleticism which is probably why we have none

I would assume that beings you were able to come up with the conclusion that we should look towards Samoa for recruiting that the coaching staff already has as well... And I would imagine that other schools are also looking there, perhaps explaining why we don't have any recruits from there.
It's a nice idea, but way too costly. Flying down to Texas or Florida to recruit is way cheaper than flying to Samoa. It's easier for the west coast teams to do this since they're somewhat closer.
Just simply stating that instead of offering a scholarship to a kid from Iowa that doesn't deserve it (cough, Sandvig, Neal, Mansfield, O'Connell) why not try to get a guy that at LEAST has the size to compete at the Big 12 level. Just don't see why ISU has to give out so many sympathy scholarships for inferior athletes
