Could someone in the know tell me how this happens? We are a very young team with little depth, and not having that off week will cost us when we are playing teams we can beat. Does this happen to at least one team every year in the Big 12, or did this get setup to maximize tv appearances or revenue?
The original conference schedule has no open weeks in it. What happens is schools mutually agree to move their game to Thanksgiving weekend and that creates an open week. But unless a game is moved, there is no open week. And since ISU fans won't come to a Thanksgiving weekend game because going to granny's house is more important, ISU doesn't have a bye week.
